Veterans, please pardon my precocious post (and alliteration). Newbies I have tried to translate some of the terms I have picked up (veterans feel free to correct any errors I have made).

I have been using my smoke everywhere 51 trio for one week today. I have been a member for about a week today. I have been a member of pipe and cigar forums since 1996, so I know a thing or two about smoking and forums (i.e. members).

When I discovered this site I was elated. This is a beautiful forum that is well set up and policed. I joined immediately.

The next thing I noticed is that I don't vape a fifty-one trio as the pv says I smoke an RN 4081 super mini the most hated pv around. I felt terrible, ripped off, angry, and like a sucker. Then I remembered how people used to make new pipe smokers feel if they didn't have a Savinelli or know who actually made their favorite blend and its serial number.

I poked around this last week (lurking) and found a few fans of the 4081 and very little in the way of tips or support. The fundamentals that I did discover have made me a happy vaper.

First, as a pipe smoker or a gun owner you know two things:

1. Take it apart and put it back together until you can do it in your sleep. What did I learn?

I took my cartridge (cart) apart and looked at the assembly. Basically the cart is made up of a filter looking piece of brown plastic (can vary) with a small white cup at the bottom.

The tip has a small hole that the vapor comes through. The end can be opened up to reveal a dead space with a piece of polyfil (the stuff inside most stuffed animals and pillows). My advice, remove the polyfil... it's worthless and reduces vapor output. There is no glue, it's just a small piece of plastic that snaps in to place.

The wide open end where the cart attatches to the rest of the body revealed a white cup which is removable. To remove use a straightened paper clip through the small hole at the opposite end (another reason to remove the polyfil). This cup contains some form of juice (with or without nicotine) and more polyfil. To refill these carts you simply drop juice in to these white cups until the polyfil is saturated. You can drip juice down the cart but I find that this leads to missing the cup and getting juice in my mouth (I don't mind some people do). I take out the cup, add just a pinch of polyfil that I roll between my fingers to solidify and pack down and add juice at that point. If you have prefilled cartridges keep the rubber plugs, this allows you to pre-fill cartridges and keep them full (they evaporate slightly if left open). The complaint I see fairly often is that the polyfil either melts (when dry) or obtains an odor, I think it's easy to use pliers to pull out the polyfil and add fresh. Polyfil can be purchased at stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby on the cheap, trust me a small teddy bear's worth is enough to keep you in poly for a LONG time.

The battery is the longest part of the cigarette and has a light on the end of it, great I can’t see it when I’m smoking. It will flash if I take more than a 5 second drag or when the battery is dead. The battery is screwed in to the charger when you unscrew the atty and cart. If you put too much juice in the atty it is possible to ruin a battery (I haven’t had any issues yet).

2. Keep it clean.
I take my carts apart and dry out any juice or liquid that builds up with smoking. I see that the atomizer can also be cleaned and will test that method soon. I simply blow through the atty from the part that screws in to the battery down out the part that connects to the cart. A few puffs usually dries everything out. I twist the paper towel to completely dry out the cart, and remove any liquid form the dead space at the tip.

My tools, a paper towel, a straightened paperclip and the tweezers from a small multifunction pocket knife.

All of this is to say that with a little persistence and effort I have been able to enjoy my 4081 and get enough vapor to impress everyone that sees it. Don't get discouraged, just work at loving your device! You will be hooked, and the extra effort allows ownership.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences.
