Hi,
Just thought it polite to introduce myself as I have been lurking and using the wealth of info on the forum to help me on my journey in giving up the "stinkies" or "Anologues"
.
I`ve been a smoker for 35years (or there abouts) and have always smoked roll-ups, mostly Old Holborn but in recent years had switched to Golden Virginia. I would say my habit was heavy! I would quite easily get through 5 ounces a week, maybe more which would equate to probably 40+ a day. The cost was never an issue as most of the time I could "obtain" duty free tobacco and when I could`nt I would just cut down until I sourced some more.
The health aspect wasn`t much in my mind either! at least in my younger years, however I`ve recently taken up a sport and have noticed that I`m not (fit? not the right word really in a general sense) but running out of breathe way too easily and not able to enjoy my chosen pastime as much as I should
.
So 4 weeks ago and purely by chance I happened upon an E-cig. Someone bought a single Sky-cig starter pack for my Mother who promptly gave up trying to use it after a day (it ran out of battery and she dosn`t have a computer to re-charge it). But I was intrigued ( I had seen people using them but never gave it a second thought) so did a bit of research and re-charged it, screwed in one of the un-used cartomisers, and tried it out. It was a bit disappointing for someone that smoked "fat" rollies at a rate but for an hour or two I was smoke free.
I bought a couple of new batteries and some more pre-filled carts and in 3 days managed to cut down from 40 to 3! rollies per day
and was hooked on vaping!!
.
In the past 3 weeks I hav`nt smoked a single roll-up!
I went and bought the Jac vapour batteries in 280mah, blank carts (KR808`s)and some liquid, this was fine for another week but still not quite the "hit" I`m used to (although they are great for out and about).
So now.... I have in my arsenal... ego 1000mah passthrough/battery, ego (clone) 900mah passthrough/battery,ego 650mah battery and 20 carts (510) in both Std and LR. juice in various flavours and nic ratings as well as all the paraphenalia of mains chargers, syringes, empty bottles
.
I`ve always figured if something is worth doing..... don`t p#ss about doing it
.
The Sky-cigs are still going thanks to carefull cleaning and not burning out the carts and the mother is using them, which I suppose was the point in the first place!
When they give up the Jac vapour ensemble will be passed over to her and I`ll grab another ego 650mah so I have a pair for mobile use (they are actually smaller than the 78mm 280mah Jac batteries) and kinda cute
.
Being up on design and engineering I`ve even made my own device to simplify the notorius
"Taryn Spin" method of filling and draining carts (couldn`t be arsed phaffing about with plastic bags and bootlaces!). I`ll post a pic if people wish and it`s allowed?
And made a couple of leather sheaths for the ego`s just in case I need them out and about by cutting the fingers off an old pair of leather gloves (I`m a Biker so have plenty to choose from
), the batteries fit a treat and punch a hole in the top, clip a Lanyard on and hey presto!
So there`s my introduction
a bit long winded but then again....I`ve noticed I`ve got a bit more wind to spare since quitting
