Newer Batteries?

Just a quick question for the people that have recently purchased the original sized auto batteries:

Do they seem to have really hard switches?

I received a new one yesterday and I really have to suck on it to get the switch to activate. I barely get any vapor because it pulls in so much air. I emailed Mark yesterday, but have not heard back from him yet. This battery is pretty much unusable, but are all the newer batteries like this?

Some folks have posted on here to put toothpicks in the air holes to help the drag on them...there are other fixes posted around also

If you have a bad switch, just request a replacement

I have found many, which need to break in for like 3 charges, they change dramatically BTW. Please, give em a chance.

It's the new design based on the poll that Leaford had about the amount of airflow people wanted from their draw. The majority voted for a lighter draw. I do agree that the switch isn't quite sensative enough, or that the post hole needs to be a bit bigger, but this is a direct result of the voting from that poll a while back.

Do a quick search for possible fixes... I think best thing for me has been to apply a little glue in the holes in the threads, then sand that down and poke smaller holes through the glue. You can make it draw as easy/hard as you like that way and it's semi-permanent over toothpicks.

All my new batteries have either a tiny bit of silicone or tacky craft glue in one hole
They work great for me now

Thanks for the tips! I'll see if I can't manage for a while until broken in.

I recently received some of the new auto regulars. For the first charge or 2 they did seem to act a little strange. One drag OK next drag nothing next drag OK but it was very intermittent. They seem just fine now but had me a little concerned at first.
