Newly Active member, and starting a channel

Hi All,

I've been a member for a little while now, just lurking here and there. I have vaping been since December 2013.

I live in Perth, Western Australia, and unfortunately there isn't much of a scene here, as it is illegal to sell the hardware :( Still fine to buy from the eastern states though, and no issues buying overseas.

I have recently decided to start a no Bull.... review channel. My aim is to keep things factual and to the point - I honestly want to provide a useful and informative opinion of products I review. The products I will be reviewing are ones that I have purchased and will actually be using before reviewing. In doing so I hope to provide the watcher with an honest idea of what the product is like.
I am also hoping to review products that I don't see many, if any, reviews on.

I only have a couple of videos up at the moment - some random vids from 6 months ago of a couple of builds. I have recently uploaded a short intro video, and my first review video - a review and comparison of the Youde IGO-M v2 and it's clone. I plan on recording my next video tomorrow evening after work,

If you search youtube for "002 IGO M v2 rda by Youde", my review should be the first result - it'll be by shaitan667 (apparently I can't post links yet)

I am a bit limited in what I have to record right now, so please excuse the production quality at this point - I am filming with a Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 and no external mic. My lighting consists of the two ceiling lights in my vape room, and a bendy neck desk lamp
I am looking to buy an external mic in the near future.
I am also still learning how to use my video editing program - Corel VideoStudio X7 Pro - so my edits are pretty limited at the moment.

I am hoping to get some feedback and constructive criticism on my first review video. Please feel free to leave any criticisms/feedback/suggestions in the comments, and in this thread.

Apologies for the shameless self promotion, but I am unable to post anywhere else, and I do really appreciate any and all feedback I get, as I am still new to filming and whatnot, and generally am not a terribly good public speaker.

Thanks!

Andrew

Welcome to ECF! Enjoy your stay.

Nice video review (I found you on youtube and watched it). You're public speaking skills are fine. Once you get your 5 post requirement out of the way, you'll be able to post links.

Some things that irritate me on videos:

1. Intro that are too long and music too loud. If I wanted to listen to loud music I'd listen to music, not watch reviews.
2. Videos that are too long. Keep 'em short. You are likely to get more views if the video is in the 5-8 minute range. Plan ahead and just talk about the important points. Such as "where to get it" "how much it costs" "build quality/ease of use" "what I like" "what I dislike."
3. Cursing/four letter words. No need for it and it makes the video un-suitable for ECF. (glad to see you didn't use any bad language)

Hi Andrew.

You should definitely expand your channel.

What with Australian laws and people (vendors) selling stuff at rip-off prices to ordinary, unsuspecting Aussies, I wish you success.

Yeah I definitely want to cover this stuff. There is one vendor in particular that it seems everyone new to vaping gets stung by. Sells a kit with two ego style 650mAh batteries and a couple of disposable tanks for like $150 - it's a real scam! Re-sells Mount Baker Vapour juice for like $30 for a 30 ml bottle. He is scum...

WEll my next review is finally up. Took a while - I got made redundant so sorta lost a bit of motivation to do much of anything.

This time it's a review of the EHPro Evil Eye 26650 (30mm) RTA. Used a headset mic for the close up bit this time, so hopefully the sound is a bit better. Still terrible when the camera is backed out. As soon as I find another job, I will be getting a proper mic.

TL;DW - get it! My go to tank - don't even bother with the Youde Goblin.
