I tell them that I enjoy nicotine, I like to have a few moments to relax and think every now and then. All I wanted to quit was the cancer and chemical part. If they go on to ask you if nic is bad tell them to look it up and not be so addicted to sugar. Which is a stronger and much more harmful drug.

Excess sugar leads to diabetes!

I am sorry u have to put up w/ comments like that!! I have not gotten that yet. As a matter of fact, I feel pretty much like a walking billboard for ecigs! I work at a casino and EVERYONE at work asks me about it & wants one. I use an eGo so it looks a bit different than the mini's people are exposed to at the mall. I have placed an order for 20 Leo's from Bogetech & already have 11 of them pre-sold!!! I am working on a handout that I will print up & hand out to interested people. I am including a lot of info. & tips I have learned here at ECF. I am going to convert as many people as I can!!! I have been off anologs for 7 or 8 weeks now, since I started out with my eGo!!! (with the occasional slip due to forgetting my batt. ect...)
"You still using that thing?" ~~You betchya!!!!~~

When people have asked me if I'm "still" using it, I just explain that this is a hobby I've found enjoy and I'm perfectly content to continue with it the way some people knit, cook, or lob tree stumps for their hobbies. Put in that light, it separates it from the idea that vaping is some kind of step-down program. Yes, I've decreased my nic level, but when I'm feeling ornery, I don't volunteer that info.

I guess we're lucky. I think the only problem DH runs into at work is that his cube mate has been working hard at losing weight and getting fit - and DH often smells like snacks - cappuccino, toffee, apple jolly ranchers - LOL.

I'm getting the same thing. I just tell them I am more addicted to nicotine than they were and may be able to stop someday....In the meantime...just bite me

Why give explanations to idiots? Trying to explain things to ignorant people with half the mental capacity of my cat was the second stupidest thing I used to do. Naturally, smoking was the first.

YOU STILL USING THAT THING?
Reply: When I get tired of smoking my German Chocolate Cake and getting my nicotine, I'll be sure to let you know.

WHY DONT YOU JUST QUIT COLD TURKEY LIKE I DID?
Reply: Why don't you go bring me a slice of German Chocolate Cake?

My family and friends are very supportive of this - there has been a couple of occasions when people start to ask stupid questions and my friends jump in and lay it out for them! But, this weekend I was leaving an event and someone who I barely know starts to say "you should quit cold turkey" and I told him I have, he says "pain and struggle are exciting!" I say, you couldn't be Jewish.

Ok, seriously, people can be so stupid. You cannot do anything to get rid of them (not without going to jail lol), but you can take solace in knowing that you are not one of them ;-)

Actually, we really should come up with some retorts (I'm a shrink and when I was dating I would get guys that made stupid comments like "Are you going to analyze me?".... To which I said things like "not unless you are paying me my hourly rate" or "you aren't that complex, I completed that in the first 2 minutes of this date" ((smirk)) ). Anyone have some great comebacks???

Mostly everyone is supportive of my vaping but more annoying than cold-turkey quitters and smokers are the "I'm too smart for this" people.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, I was at a party talking to a girl who still smoked about e-cigs letting her try mine ect. Boy genius wonders by and blabs out "You know your smoking anti-freeze right? I got a gallon in the truck if you need a refill". I was calm for the most part as I explained what PG was and its other uses (I done some research before I started vaping). He replied "Man, someone lied to you!" long story short I almost ended up in a fist fight over an e-cig! But this guy was just looking for trouble.

I have people inquire about what actually makes the vapor in much nicer, more curious ways, it is nice to have that information and seem informed about your decision to vape.

I would have replied, "Yes, please. Go get it." Then I would have talked the girl into taking the conversation to a .....-free environment.
