Hi,
I'm new here an am really interested in the e-cigarettes. I'm not too much for chatting but would love to hear what everyone thinks of the e-cigarettes. I haven't bought one yet. So any input into what is the best one would be greatly appreciated.

Please help, I am very new to this and apparently doing something fundamentally wrong. I am getting good vapor for about 10 hits off of any cartridge I try. How can this be?

The best way to get help is to start a thread on the new members board, there are a lot of very helpful people here.

I've been reading the board hoping to find a real blunt and apparently honest answer as to how much cheaper vaping is compared to smoking. So far I haven't really seen a comparison... Though it's possible I just missed it.
Let's say I smoke a pack a day at just under four bucks a pack.
Also, how much eliquid should I need for an entire month?

Heyas, Uhm, my name is Candice and I got my first E-Cig (a black 901) from ECSi a couple weeks ago and I have to say everything is awesome so far! I've been lurking here for a couple weeks but the other day I decided to register so I could use that ol' search function I hear so much about on forums ^_^. I'm testing out my first blend of juice and so far its awesome, and I'm realizing I never really liked the taste of tobacco in the first place ! You're on the right track. The term "analog" is, as we know, the opposite of "digital". Since most e-cigs have basic, simple microprocessors in them (little teensy computers) they are, technically, digital devices.

The rest should be pretty obvious

Word up homies. I'm Matt, new to vaporizers, new to this robust & indispensable forum. Came upon e-cigs in a shopping mall, obviously a Smoking Everywhere kiosk. I was quite taken by the 0mg menthol cartridge, & decided to seriously research for a potential purchase, & thus I was introduced to this forum.

I suppose I'm a "social" smoker. Had my first analog (!) at 15, smoked maybe 3 packs/week during college & shortly thereafter, gradually scaled down my intake over a few years, & just last July, at 29, I quit. However, I've since cheated a few times; I've bummed a few smokes, purchased more than a few crappy, convenience store cigars. Only when my friend & I are drinking Jameson or scotch though; that's when I want to smoke. I don't believe I'm addicted to nicotene, just drawn to the physical process, & to the "throat hit".

Just ordered a 901, extra atomizer, & 2 packs of 0mg menthol from Vapor Guys! I canceled my PayPal order twice before I ultimately placed the order. I'm skeptical, especially about the propylene glycol. But whatever. I'll keep researching, & in the meantime, when I next drink a single malt & get that craving, hopefully I'll pull on my vaporizer for a few minutes, instead of buying a $1.00 cigar. Cheers!

Saw an ad for Enjoy. The research led me here. Only the 2nd day and already have cut down on analogs.
I was smoking Sherman Specials Clove 14-17 per day. My 1st day of vaping I only smoked 7 and my second day only 4. The product I bought the Vapor 1000 is excellant but my learning curve is coming into play. When to top off/drip or replace atomizer or battery really makes a difference.

I just want to post a note to say thank you so much for all the help in this forum.

A few days ago I learned about e-cigs from a CNN vid. I had no idea these existed. So I started a little internet research and stumbled headlong into this forum.

Thank God I did!!!

At first I thought most of you might have some screws loose in the attic when I started reading about paper clips, juice, mini's, pens, cartridges and syringes. WTH?

But then I found the videos in this New Member forum. Those videos should be required watching for any newbie! They saved me!

Without this forum I would've been lost and probably ordered some piece of crap e-cig for $150.00. - been disappointed and eventually thrown it in the trash.

But with all your help, I ordered a DSE901 from Vapor Guys with lots of extras. And you've given me pretty good information on how to use it when it arrives!!

Like most on this forum I really need to cut down or totally give up analogs. My expectations are medium. This may or may not be the thing for me but I'm really excited about giving it a try.

Hi all - first let me reiterate what so many other newbies have already said. Thank you to all the regular posters for your fantastic advise and info! I'm almost bug-eyed reading it all but it has been fantastically helpful. Am feeling a bit over-whelmed with info overload right now but had to get a couple of questions in before I forget what they were!
It would seem like the DSE 901 is pretty well recommended as a good starter for a newbie. Can I assume that all DSE 901's are the same no matter what supplier is selling them? Have they all kind of come out of the same factory? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but have also been to many seller sites and, of course, they all try to make is sound like their's is the best so just wondered if the model is the same across the board.
Also I am thinking, from what I have read here, that you should be able to refill any of the cartridges that come with it? Even if you buy it from one seller because, say, their price is better, you can buy the liquid from anyone else and use it in the carts? Glad I read thru all these posts otherwise I would have assumed that you just HAD to dispose of the carts all the time.
This may sound crazy but it was bothering me a bit to think of dumping all those cartridges in the land fill (you can bet that this will become one of those 'environmental causes' when these e-cigs get too popular!) so good to know that they can be refilled for awhile anyway.
Again thanks to all for your great info here! I am so badly wanting to place an order and get going - just trying to be careful I don't get burned and you all have helped a lot in educating me on things to think of and look out for.

Sorry - just one more question ... for tonight. I've been reading a lot of reviews on ecigs that have the disposable cartridge with atomizer built right in to them and was wondering if anyone had any experience/thoughts on this avenue? The main plus seems to be that 'you never have to worry about the atomizer because it is always a new one'. Of course, I imagine this also means that you can never re-fill these things? Thanks again.

Hallo, my name's Doug, but everyone calls me Pooky. No, really, they do. I am not, as yet, the proud owner of an ecigarette, but I shall be rectifying this as soon as I possibly can. See, I don't mind that I'm addicted to nicotine. I also don't mind that I'm addicted to the act of smoking a cigarette (which is a far stronger addiction than the nicotine). I do, however, mind a great deal that when I get my nicotine/sucking on a stick fix, I'm taking all manner of vile crap into my body that buggers my respiratory system and will eventually kill me. I don't like that at all. So I will buy an ecigarette from somewhere (I have almost decided which one I'll be getting, but not quite) as soon as I can. The only bijou problemette for me is the rather stupid laws in New Zealand. One can buy ecigarettes here, but only with the nicotine free cartridges. I believe I can legally import the nicotine cartridges, or the liquid, provided I do so for personal use, and not for resale. But it would be good to be able to get them locally.

I am gearing up to get my first e-cigarette. It's all pretty confusing and seems there is no top product (buyer beware) that works flawlessly across the board. I've looked over e-Smokey Treats and there is nothing in stock. Not being able to find products is a serious drawback. I was wondering just about what it would cost to maintain my nicotine addiction with e-smokes? It can't possibly approach what I am currently spending on Djarum Special at $7.75 a pack. At a bit less than a pack a day, I can't justify spending that anymore. Nicotine vapor (in theory) would definitely be a great substitute for an addiction I most definitely enjoy. I do love my cloves. Very glad to see this forum and all the help it offers.

Welcome, TheLizinator. There are loads of video reviews to be found here and your best bet is to watch a few of them and see the different styles in action. Whichever you choose, stick to a supplier and model that people here have recommended and you should be fine. Another thought is to try a disposable first so you have a bit of experience before you shell out for a reusable unit.

Cost savings are difficult to quantify. There's a high startup cost, and intermittent hardware replacement costs (batteries and atomisers don't last forever), but after that it gets *much* cheaper buying liquid than buying analogs. Some people here have banner signatures which calculate savings, so keep an eye out for those to get an idea.
