Greetings; I've been vaping for close to 2 months now and, with all the great help available on this forum, I've learned what I needed to know to get a pretty decent vaping experience, enough so that quitting tobacco has been no problem at all. I'm currently using an eGo Twist with a BCC clearomizer, and 18 mg 50-50 liquid for my DV.

I had basically decided to get an iTaste VV battery kit; I don't want a spend a lot of money in the near future, but for a pretty decent price the iTaste will give me some features I would really like, such as VW mode, and also an ohm checker (I want to try rebuilding PT coils). Also, if I understand correctly, the iTaste will give me more power than the Twist is capable of.

I was about to pull the trigger on this purchase, but it turns out that I can get a Vamo for basically the same price. I'm hoping to get some advice in terms of choosing between these two models. The Vamo will let me replace batteries when they wear out, choose the device length I want to go with (i.e. an 18350 vs an 18650 battery), and I suspect that the Vamo is a more reliable device (I've watched the PBusardo iTaste VV video). I have a hunch that the Vamo is capable of delivering thicker vapour, which is definitely something that I want.

Is this a no-brainer decision in favour of the Vamo, or should I really consider going with the iTaste? I might want to get something higher up the food chain down the road, but for now I want to stay within the price range of these two power packs.

Oh, one other thing; the Vamo in question is a V2, hence the inexpensive price (old stock -- fwiw the newest model I can get locally at this point is the V3). Is that a major factor in this decision?

Regards
Glenn

The iTaste VV/Vw is a nice mod. It is also not much bigger than the setup you are currently using. If you do decide to go this route, make sure you get the VV/VW model. The older model only is VV and does not have an ohm reader.

From what I have gathered, there is not much difference between the Vamo V2, V3, or V5. I really would not worry about which version. One thing to consider: when you buy a Vamo, you also need to get batteries and a charger. You really want to spend $20+ for the charger. The Nitecore Intellicharget is a very common one. Then you also need batteries. There are many to choose from. Some of the more common ones are AW, Panasonic CGR, or Efest. AW is pretty much the gold standard in the vapor community right now.

Mods are only a power source. The kind of vapor you get is largely determined by the type of atomizer/clearomizer/whatever.

Thanks for the reply, J-Mike. I should have said that, ya, it's an iTaste VV V3 i'm looking at.

Batteries and a charger are factored in the total price comparison, but I didn't realize that a good charger cost that much. That will make the Vamo V2 combo (incld a couple batteries and that charger) about $10 more than the iTaste, which is fine. Over the long term, I guess it's either replace 18350s at $5 a pop, vs replacing entire iTaste VVs.

Cheers!

Go with what best suits your needs and makes the most sense to you. Both will get the job done, though having a device with replaceable batteries makes more sense to me. As stated, what you cook your juice in determines the amount of vape and qualiy then the batter mod. PT's are just a mediocre tank. If you want to rebuild and get great vapor, time to look for a decent rba too.

The VV3 is 800 mAh - but you don't say what size Twist.

The Vamo is known to have issues with the 510 threading, so maybe look at an SVD? All stainless, telescoping, VV/VW, ohm checker. IMO, a step up from the Vamo, at about the same cost.

I have both, among others, like and use them both, but the VV3 tends to be in backup mode :)

I am assuming you are meaning the iTaste V3. Both are good VW model PV's. The only advantage to the V3 is it's smaller size if that is important to you. Otherwise, I would get the Vamo even though there is a little higher up-front cost due to the batteries and charger but in the long run you should save money. Plus the Vamo has a 5 amp switch.

You can get the newest Vamo V5 for about $33:

The Vamo V5 combines the look of the V2 with the screen and replaceable top of the V3. So there is definitely an advantage to the V5. I would definitely want the replaceable top of the V5 which can be replaced for $7 if needed.

I'd like to thank you for posting this question. I was looking at the itaste yesterday. Thought about it all night long and dreamt of vapemail.

Greetings; Yes, it looks pretty cool, though I really am stumped. But I think I can't go too wrong either way. I'm going to place the order as soon as I make up my mind.

Thanks to everyone who shared their views, this is all really great stuff to learn.

They let me try out the itaste vv/vw and the MVP2 at the vapor shop yesterday. Granted, I didn't play around with them a whole lot, but I left wanting the itaste in pearl.

If I get the Vamo i'll have to order it, but if I get the iTaste VV V3, I can pick it up from a shop (which I may do tomorrow). I'll follow up and say how things go.

Greetings; A qwik update to this thread: It was a really tough choice, but I was really drawn to the Vamo, so that's what I got (picture below). I chose a V3 in gun-metal black, and though i'm still in VV mode -- haven't figured out how to switch to VWs -- i'm really happy with my first vapes, which are the kind of thick, rich plumes I watched with envy on review videos.

I really like the iTaste VV V3's portability, and the positive comments speak for themselves, but I had a hunch that if I had gotten it, I would end up wanting something with a greater power range, and which lasts longer between recharging. I got a small (18350) battery to use the Vamo's short configuration, but I also got an 18650 battery rated at 2000 mAh, which should last all day. I came close to spending about 25% more to get an eVic, because I love the idea of recharging via USB, but now that i'm back home I feel I made a good choice -- blown away by how much vapor this thing kicks out.

I'm a little OCD about safety (I kept the batteries in the box, under my seat, on the way home ), but I know the Vamo has good fail-safe features, and there's plenty of great material on ECF about proper procedures for handling li-ions.

Anyhow, thanks again to everyone who helped me decide

I am happy with my iTaste lol

Greetings; I hear you Macz. I'm sure I would have been happy with an iTaste too, if I had gone that way.

Down the road, once I save more $$$ by not buying tobacco, I can see myself getting an iTaste as well, as a carry around. I'm around computers and mini-usb plugs all day, and for someone like me, I think you just can't beat the convenience of recharging E-Cig this way.

itaste is a fraction the size of the vamo and is a passthrough built in battery. If you plan on high wattage/amp vaping you would need the vamo with a good set of batteries. The itaste will only give you up to 5 volts, and the 800mah passthrough battery will not last long if you crank it. IMO, innokin has bit an edge in terms of quality over the vamo. But it really boils down to your needs.
