What I have now is the kanger evod with a t3s tank. I loved it! Then I tried a smoktech tank with the dual coil, adjustable air flow and the coil can be turned open to allow better juice flow (forgive me for my very non technical decriptions lol). Naturally I tried going back to my old tank but like all things with vaping once you try better things, you love them and cant go back.
So my question is, whats my next step as far as an upgrade? I get confused easily so simple is best lol. Also I am not ready to go to the box type yet lol. Just something as simple to use as what I started with, but you know better lol. Also I hate the metal drip tip thing. Is there any way around that? Basically anything that allows for very little user error, and I like the thick juices. I saw some that have variable voltage but they are preset with only a few options, like a push button type thing? Lol I get so confused with this stuff. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Evic VTC mini would be a great choice imo...
It's small, it's light, an amazing performer (75W, Temp Control) and has a lovely display. Comes in a range of colors and supports just about every coil or tank (minus the cloud chasing super low ohm,<0.2, stuff which requires 2 batteries at least).
Joyetech keeps improving it by bring out new firmware, which is easily installed by plugging it into a laptop with the included usb cable.
Best thing of all, it's cheap (35-40$) and still robust... Dropped mine several times and it's still vaping fine.

Together with the smoktech tank you've tried, I guess you need not spend more than 50-60$.

I'd start with looking at what are some of the current "starter kits" and see what may be to your liking as far as style goes. There are new pen-style kits out now that would be an improvement on your current gear but yet still simple to use.
