Alright... I'm hooked. My wife and I got our first sets of Kangertech EVODs on Saturday. I also purchased each of us a Mini Pro Tank V2 as I heard they were good. Since then, I've dropped my once a day habit and I'm loving it!!!! Today was my first day of only 3/4 of an actual cig. I prefer the vaping over smokes ANYDAY! The taste is better... yadayadayada (I'll save this for my success story)

Anyhow, I'm now enthralled at watching videos about vaping and upgrades and all that good stuff. I love both tanks, they both have their plus sides. Now that I'm enjoying this so much.....

WHAT IS NEXT? I'd love to buy another upgrade, but I don't know what style to check out? I don't want a HUGE battery, and like the usb plug in style. But I'd like to have a battery monitor of sort to let me know when its dying. Something probably just for home or in the car, as the discreetness of my EVOD battery is great. Fits in my pocket, and all that jazz. But I know there has to be some sort of step up?

Or how do I even begin? there is so much stuff out there.... Just a little direction would help. Most of the lingo is still baffling, and I spend more time trying to learn what everyone is talking about on here.

I little more vape would be cool.....

PS- I'm loving this new attraction to vaping. Today was my first day of being able to smell things that I never noticed before...:D

I would recommend the innokin itaste vv 3. It's about the same size, but it has variable voltage and variable wattage. It also has an ohm reader built in and tells you how much battery is left. Micro usb charging and will still be able to use the tanks you have. I have one and love it.

If you want something a little bigger and will vape for a good day or 2, get an itaste mvp v2.

Just so you know, those BIG batteries are much much smaller in person. The camera definitely adds a few pounds. Especially for mods. In fact, a sigelei zmax is about half the size I expected, and might be a good fit for you. Innokin is a much loved brand around here, so maybe a Coolfire 1, or an SVD in 18350 mode? Me? Mechanicals all the way. But, I definitely don't advocate going that route until you've done your due diligence in battery safety/ohms law - unless you already understand that stuff.

+1 for this, and even something like a Vision Spinner, for me, was an upgrade. (Perhaps for your wife? It comes in rainbow ;) ) I'm not into the big fancy mods yet, I may get an MVP 2 for home use some day because I hear such good things about them.

Check out some Telescoping style variable volt/watts style mod. you can put different size batteries in it and have three different sizes to use depending on your day.
Innokin SVD
sigelei

I see you have to purchase the batteries seperate on these "telescoping". I'm assuming the telescoping allows different battery sizes as well. Can you set these up with usb charging capabilities or do you have to carry a sep charger for the batteries and take them out everytime for charge?

Seen these too. That Mvp v2 is a pretty heavy deal. But that might be up my alley for kicking it at home!

Just spotted the coolfire deal. That's not variable though is it? The svd is, right? And by mechanical, I'm assuming you mean a fixed setup vs variable. Right?

Based on your orig post and comments, I'd go with the iTaste VV V3 - it has everything you described.

In the event you move on to other things later, the VV would make a great backup for either of you. And... you WILL need backups.

Adding an MVP to the family would also be a very good idea. It takes a bit of a cognitive shift to get over the box form factor, but you'll fall in love with it once you vape it for 5 mins.

A mechanical is just that, purely mechanical. There are no wires of any kind or circuitry. They are essentially a tube with a battery in them and threads for the topper on one end. Until you do a lot of reading just forget they exist. They are great but can be dangerous if you don't follow some general safety rules. You would also need some additional equip.

You can't go wrong with the itaste vv 3.0 or the MVP 2 they are both great.

They do have smaller ego style batteries now with a digital readout (I have no personal experience with them):
SLB eGo-V v2 MEGA 1200mah PassThrough eGo 3.0-6.0v OLED - BLACK [gv-SLBeGo-VMEGA-BLACK] - $31.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Go to a B&M (Brick and Mortar, local Vape Shop) and check out their selection. Handle some of their equipment (hehe) and see what you think. I wouldn't let them talk me into buying anything right away, you usually pay AT LEAST 10% over online prices. Its also a good way to sample some new juices (I usually shy away from store brand juice, but I have tried some that was really good).

eGo: standard term for the "Pen" style batteries (like your EVOD kit).
I have a vision spinner, though I havent messed with the voltage as much as I should... I started getting a burnt taste at lower voltages even though I was using heads labeled 2.2ohm.
APV: Advanced personal Vaporizer. These have the Control Heads (that is the digital display on top of the compartment that holds the battery). The Battery Tube holds the battery... and the bottom cap holds the battery in. These USUALLY do not come with batteries.
There are chargers that you can use with USB, but it is an additional unit.
the eVic is an APV but has a usb outlet on the side. I know its for data, not sure if it will charge too.

I have a SmokTech SiD which (as I understand it) is a similar size as the ZMAX and other such MODs (Models).

Height:
eGo 900mAh Vision Spinner - 4.25"
eGo 1300mAh passthrough - 4.5"
SiD - 5.25"

Diameter:
eGos - 1/2"
SiD - 7/8".

I was leery of picking up an APV because of the height/thickness too, but I feel my egos are at the end of their lives, and I wanted something with more power ... it was time for an upgrade :)
After receiving the SiD, I was pleasantly surprised. Like a previous poster said, it really isnt that much bigger in your hand. You do have more of a learning curve on them (more settings, what do they mean?? hehe) but its not all that difficult to pick up on. Most are simply VV/VW units that allow you to digitally adjust your settings. charts like this really help out. Set your wattage to what is in the cell, or your voltage to the top column based on what your ohms rating is. It sounds a lot more complicated than it really is.
My SiD fits in my cargo shorts pockets just fine (any of them lol). I havent tried to carry it around in my jeans yet, but I imagine it will be a tight fit. My Ego's barely fit (height wise).
The Protank looks good on the APVs, and it doesnt make it top heavy like it is on the ego.
Even with the 18650 Batteries that the SiD takes, it isn't horribly heavy.
Some mods (like the telescopeing ones a previous poster talked about) take shorter batteries to make your device more concealable (18350s).
18650/18350 is a style of battery - 18 is the radius(diameter?) and 65 is the height (in mm?)
I'm still learning...
Check out some reviews if you are interested in the APVs.
Know that if you buy and APV and you dont have a compatible charger, or batteries you looking at atleast an extra $40 (I wouldn't skimp on the charger or battery - I got 2 efest 2000mAh high drain batteries and an Intellicharger i4 from amazon). Like I said in a previous post - they do have USB chargers, but it is a separate unit.

I give this to you as information, not trying to tell you this is your next step. Everyone progresses at different rates.
I've been Vaping for 6 months on eGos and have been pretty happy. I think my SiD give me better flavor and vapor, but I'm not saying that my vision spinner couldn't have done that. Either way, I am VERY happy with my purchase.

I discovered this the first time I walked into one. They were asking (I won't name anyone) around $100 for the kit I purchased. I quickly opened my phone (THANK GOD FOR SMART PHONES AND 4G) and seen them online for less than $30.. Yeah, I'll wait a week to get it in the mail! I'm taking a friend on Saturday to get him setup with his first kit to my newest favorite store. I'll see if they will let me "handle their equipment". I currently get my juices from there as they are pretty tasty, but I'm still new.

Sorry for the long post... I tend to over explain (good thing in the beginner forum I think). Haven't gotten any "TLDR" yet, but I'm sure some just scroll past... Haha

I'm glad it helped.
Sorry, I have no experience with either vv3 or mpv2. That's for someone else.

Good luck!
