They are always nailbiters. And its seems to go in waves falcons dominate the series a few years, the saints dominate it a few years. Very exciting games, amazingly underrated rivalry.

EDIT: Is your avatar by chance you burning your personal paper bag?
No, no.. I never was a bag head.. That was just an image I found online that made me laugh. Lol.

New England Patriots 30
Minnesota Vikings 7

Patriots finally got the D working (4 picks) and Brady and the boys were able to move the ball...course the Vikings not having Adrian Peterson was beneficial to the Pats..

yep no thanks to the reminder but...

I dont think Peterson would have mattered. Oh maybe two picks instead of four, cause they respect the run more. I thought the pats were rather brilliant taking jennings and patterson out of the game. Pats defense was really good too. Especially impressive was that DE of the Pats and that one wide receiver. Pats have a lot of talent for sure.

Still I think my vikes are probably at least an 8-8 team, which means the Pats are probably a super bowl contender.

Lions beat Packers 19 - 7. :)

What's the bet on Freese?
Coach Jim Caldwell has offered only general support for Freese, but the Lions brought in three free-agent kickers for tryouts last week. General manager Martin Mayhew refused to comment on Freese's performance after the game.
Lions' Freese misses another FG in win over Packers

He's now 3 for 7 on field goals (was 2 for 5). But he's a rookie....
I hope they continue to support him. However, if it doesn't turn around fast, they should bench him for "a spell". IDK how that all works with special teams but some competition and/or coaching will help. :2c:

Well look at it this way Lions guys, The Lions Won. And you did a big favor knocking down the Pack to the rest of the NFC North. I do think the Lions are now the favorite to win the NFC North.

and You held the Packers to 7 points. Just think of that number 7. That is a really tiny number. The Packer defense has been dreadful, and Aaron Rodgers is getting long in tooth. The Packers miss BJ Raji.

Quicker answer than I expected....
The Detroit Lions, after three weeks of mediocrity at the kicking position, cut rookie Nate Freese and signed veteran Alex Henery on Monday.

Freese, a seventh-round pick out of Boston College, struggled from the outset this season, making just 3 of 7 field goals -- with all four misses from 40 yards or longer.
Detroit Lions waive PK Nate Freese, sign Alex Henery - ESPN

Well Congrats Lions guys for a Win in New York, its never easy winning on the road, especially in New York. With the Lions next opponent being the Bills, and the Lions are at home, looks like the Lions will be 4-1, when they meet the vikes.

Teddy Bridgewater is really impressive for a 21 year old guy, came up big in the Vikings win over Atlanta. His first NFL start, the kid threw for over 300 yards. Thats dang good. He is the real McCoy, but with an ankle injury he may not play against the Packers on Thursday. I dont like the Vikings chances on Thursday at Green Bay. Especially if Bridgewater doesnt play. Plus, some of the Vikings best players are out. Peterson, Fusco, Rudolph & Chad Greenway are all out for this game. But a football bounces funny, maybe the Vikings will catch a few lucky breaks.

..... Last nite the NFL kicked off and Super Bowl champs Seattle crushed the mighty Packers from Green Bay. Will the Packers recover from this opening day abysmal showing?

Well we got two Lions fans, one Broncos fan,one Viking fan. It looks the division is now wide open for the Silver and Blue to make a push for the title.

There is not a Packer or Cowboy fan in site. <<< This is unusual.

there is however lots of people here at ECF from Florida. And the Dolphins can't seem to shake the curse of Dan Marino. They are now in a 5 year playoff drought, and have optimism this year for the improvement of the team. Be wise, stay home. <<< either that or become a Buc fan.

And you Cowboy fans, dont you realize how awful the Cowboys are going to be this year?

I'm a Cowboys fan. And I'm pleased to see that they are making a liar out of you! Hopefully they will beat Seattle this Sunday like a rented mule. Go Cowboys!!:vapor:

Packer fans: Sorry to here about BJ Raji's injury, that a tough blow. Look on the bright side, it's probably time for the Packers to rebuild anyway. Rodgers maybe has a couple of years left before he is slow, old and ready for something else?

Packers helped Bears enter into rebuilding mode in just one game. I like that, a lot.

IMO, the top teams in NFL right now (and most likely to win SB) are:

1. Cardinals
2. Patriots
3. Broncos
4. Eagles
5. Packers

Biggest surprises so far:
1. Cardinals (best record in NFL is hard to believe)
2. Browns in first place (really?)
3. No one in NFC South has a winning record
4. Bears, Redskins and Bucs all in last place
5. 49ers with 7th best record in NFC (I believe they will not make playoffs or if they do then Lions will not)

Go Cowboys!!!!!! Sunday nights game between the Cowboys and Eagles is huge for NFC East fans. Don't be counting Dallas out. Atlanta did lose to the Packers in GB tonight but the Packers gave up 470 yards of offense to them. The NFC South will be won without a winning record this year. A crazy year for football fans.
