Hi people I'm new to the site and there seems to be a lot of good info so I would love it if someone could help me with a issue I have. I want to build a ni200 build on my aromizer rta but for some reason when I wrap the coils I put the on the tester and they all show 0.05 ohms and when I dual coil which is what I want to do none of my mods go down that low. I'm using 24 awg ni200 wire and I've tried numbers of different amounts of wraps and can't seem to work it out. Have built many kanthal builds so I'm not new to building just new to temp control stuff. All connections are tight and all secure

Sorry 0.05 is one coil so can't even attempt to dual coil it

Welcome to ECF!

Unfortunately it is going to be VERY difficult to wrap a coil with 24g Ni200 and get a resistance that most mods can handle, even more so with dual coils.

I would suggest closer to 28g for single coils and 28g or above for duals using Ni200.

Not sure what mod you have, but you may consider running Ti wire, it will allow you to build higher resistance coils with less mass but still work with temp control.

If your mod has a Ti setting, great, if not just adjust the temp down significantly (from normal Ni ranges) and it should still properly temp control. It may take a bit of trail and error to find your temp sweet spot.

Best of luck!

Alex,

Welcome to the site!

How many wraps are you using? If you are using different wraps and still getting .05Ω then you probably have a bad connection somewhere on the atty. Start at you 510 pin and make sure everything is nice and tight. The removable deck might not be solid, TL needs a solid connection throughout the topper.
