Nic base to salt conversion?

Hi. Can anyone tell me a process to convert nic base to salt? I have a jug of 100mg/ml base + VG. I believe I need to source benzoic acid and mix until the PH is lower. How low though and would PH strips suffice or do I need an actual meter (which then becomes not practical $ wise.)
