I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times, but...

What is your recommended supplier for a quality nicotine base? Also, is it more economical to use straight nicotine? I no longer have small children at home who might get into it, and I would, of course, use protective gear while handling. In other words, I'm not worried about accidental poisoning. Thanky much for your help!

P.S. I prefer an organic nicotine that's been extracted from actual tobacco leaves, rather than a nicotine salt, but I'm open to all recommendations. :)

I have been using WizardLab and they seems to pretty good. But seems like there are several other better options people use. I mainly use WL since I can get all the flavoring and nic/PG/VG all together.

As for safety in using Nic. I hate dealing with Nic as well and following method has been good for me.
Instead of doing individual Nic drops for every mix, I make "pre mix base" where I mix a large batch of PG/VG/Nic at once. When I want to mix some juice, I just add the flavoring and the pre mix base. Only tricky part is the flavor %. Since I usually stay around 15%, I make the pre mix base with assumption of 15% flavoring. I have a spreadsheet which calculates additional PG/VG/Nic needed for slight tweaking. Since these are very small drops, I can do that with a simple dropper bottles.

There are alot of good suppliers that carry quality nic.Personally,i use Heartland vapes, you can get a liter of 100mg for $45.There are a few others that run good deals like that too,my freedom smokes is another that i can think of.As for economical, yes by all means using 100mg is the best bang for the buck,as you use alot less than you would with a lower mg.

Somewhere out there
There are several good vendors for nic. If I needed more (I won't really for several years) I'd buy again from Heartland Vapes or Vaper's Tek (for their "throat hit" blend). VT TH nic is competitively priced and I prefer it over their more expensive nic.

Nude Nicotine and MFS get good reviews, but I haven't tried them myself. I do have a bottle from MFS, but it went straight into the freezer without opening (glass bottle). Wizard labs is good too, but they haven't stayed super competitive with their pricing.

100 mg/ml (10%) is the highest strength these vendors sell.

Actually discussing the use of pure nicotine is quite taboo here, and unless you have a fume hood and hazmat chemical training, it is strongly discouraged. I am a seasoned chemist of over 35 years, and I don't want to work with pure free-base nicotine. Ever. Way too dangerous for me. Thing is, given all that is needed to be able to work with pure nicotine, it is not economical for the average person. 100 mg nic is easy to work with, you don't need serious ventilation, easy to divvy up and store in glass, and pretty cheap, considering the convenience, and much, much safer.

My favorite currently on the market is VapersTek Throat Hit, both in quality and price. I only buy VG-nic, and the added pepper effect and TH, without added taste, is spot on for me. Love it!

Thanks, Kurt. I guess I'll reconsider the pure nicotine. I have pretty decent ventilation in the room where I'd be working, but now you've put the fear of God in me. Haha!

Don't confuse pure nicotine with 100mg/ml, they are not the same.
Not sure where one would even find "pure" nicotine............

100% is equal to "one whole" something. 100%mg/ml, then, means 1mg/ml. I think you meant to say 100mg/ml, without the % sign. That's equivalent to 10% by volume.

Nope, no confusion. I was after pure nicotine (no pg or vg). I've seen it on various websites. I ended up buying a 4oz 100mg/mL bottle at a B&M today, instead. That's good enough for me and my humble little laboratory, I guess. Full-on hazmat gear is a hassle, anyway. ;)
