I know ive only been trying to DIY for a week so if i sound like a noob...its cause i am.

All the recipes ive seen talk about using nic thats already mixed in vg..or pg i forget...is that the recommended technique...figured it would be easier to use real noc?...can someone help me out here?

It is certainly safer. Pure nic is highly toxic and should be avoided (IMO) unless you are a chemist

Most DIY folks use 60 mg/ml or 100 mg/ml, where the rest of it is PG or VG (or a mix of the two).

Full strength nicotine would be a hair over 1,000 mg/ml and would require protective gear, a vent hood, and good training. Nobody uses pure nic for that reason. 100 is the highest that's reasonably safe to use, and I usually recommend that beginning DIY-ers start with 60 or 36 until they're comfortable with the process.

So 60 mg/ml is really 6% nicotine (a touch lower, but that's close enough), and 94% is PG/VG/a little water as a contaminant.

We all use diluted nic. Whether you choose PG or VG base is up to you, depending on what you want to make. I use PG base as my preferred vape is 70% PG/30% VG.

Ok so pg is flavor AND throat hit
So wats vg do?

VG increases the amount of vapor. PG by itself produces much less vapor.

VG can also give your vape a bit more of a sweet undertone than PG does. It's by no means all that noticeable and even I (who hate sweet flavors) don't find it at all offensive.

Higher VG levels can also help if a person has a PG sensitivity.

My sweet spot is around 70% PG/30% VG, but I'm entirely tolerant of 100% PG or 50% PG with no issues. Moving up the VG past 50% tens to make my liquids too thick for my liking, but others enjoy it.

Best advice I can give is to keep your nic base as low as you can to accomodate the strength you vape while learning DIY. IE: I vape either 12mg or 6mg depending on the time of day. I didn't buy base above 36mg to start working with it and even debated buying a smallish (120ml) size of 24mg but decided I could handled working with 36mg. At that level, I wouldn't be nervous handling it or worry about some accident happening. I followed all the precautions I would were I working with 100mg instead just to set good practices in my head before jumping to actually using 100mg. But, anyway, staring working with 36mg, do the math using a calculator to see how much you're saving doing 36mg DIY and it will put a good perspective on nic strengths:

E-Liquid Calculator Ten Flavor's With Nicotine

that's just the link I had but you can choose which calculator you want to use on the left side menu.

From looking at the reviews you can get some idea on what might be used in the flavorings... Looks like you like fruity flavors.. Remember your taste preferences will change over time. Some day you may not even like tobacco flavoring in with your blueberry.. zombie blood looks like it might have some koolada in it from one of the reviews.

Please take some time to read all the stickies etc. and this blog is my Bible.. Hoosier has helped alot of people with diy..
