im glad i waited for the silver bullet and didnt order any of the "other" mods!

:D when will you be taking orders for the next batch sir?

Next batch will be available for preorders on the 8/17/09, this will be for the longer tube and will be using 18650 batteries and allow for Protected 6v.

Also the top portion will be made with only the 510 and have adapters available in the 801 and 901 model for $12.99. Also should have the packaging completed by then :p

Just wanted to add something to this, ALL TUBES are compatable with each other reguardless of length. :D

So the first batch can't use protected v6
batteries? I know I read some reviews that talked of using v6, are those unprotected? What's the difference?

The first batch had the ability to use CR2 batteries, we did not recommend, it was at your own risk. The difference in protected/nonprotected batteries is really simple. Protected batteries have an internal pcb to shut the battery down if it is overcharged(4.2v) or undercharged(2.5v) or in the case of a short. Lithium batteries do not like to be overcharged/discharged. There is a possibility of an unprotected battery exploding. Many who already use CR2 batteries know the risk and are used to using them and know the limits. Hope this helps.... not to mention in an emergency you could go to say lowes and buy a set of non rechargeable CR123 for bout $5(with next batch of the SB)

Guys please put me down for a 6V tube, i remember asking for one from the beginning
but no one posted in regards to my request.
Thanks.

So my SB will be taking 2-CR123, 3V batts right?

And it will be a new longer lower tube or an extra ring?

It will be a new longer lower tube, I want to keep it simple. The longer tube will be compatable with the first release SB. The reason you may not have been answered before is we were still debating on it. The longer tube will take one 18650@ 3.7v or two CR123@ 3v. I do not plan on adding any resistors or diodes, so use 6v at your own risk of atty.

well that sucks I got the 801 SB. Hey Rob could you make some adapters to fit the 801 and 901 SB so those who got those can also use the 510. I know crazy request......I bet chad can't do it.;)

But either way the preorder was worth it. The SB is a fantastic mod.
