LOL that is something i threw together the other day, its close but not what will be used, I know you all will love the adapters....I'm gonna dream about that 801x510 adapter...I want!![]()
The first batch had the ability to use CR2 batteries, we did not recommend, it was at your own risk. The difference in protected/nonprotected batteries is really simple. Protected batteries have an internal pcb to shut the battery down if it is overcharged(4.2v) or undercharged(2.5v) or in the case of a short. Lithium batteries do not like to be overcharged/discharged. There is a possibility of an unprotected battery exploding. Many who already use CR2 batteries know the risk and are used to using them and know the limits. Hope this helps.... not to mention in an emergency you could go to say lowes and buy a set of non rechargeable CR123 for bout $5(with next batch of the SB)
So if I have the original silver bullet can I just order the longer tube to be able to use protected 6v batteries?
Yes if you have a first release you will be able to order the longer tube.![]()
Very much so, should add at least 6 hours of run time. With about 800mAh more I would think. It would seem to me like the 18650 should allow for longer run time as well, right?

I boght from the first batch with 3.7v, can I buy the extension to use 6.0 protected?
Something I just want to get clarified. Rob will you be offering JUST the longer tube for sale to us gen 1 owners? Or will I need to buy an entirely new unit?
No need to buy the entire unit again, the top portion should screw right into the tube portion![]()
