My SB arrived Friday and I have been in vaping heaven ever since. I started vaping a year ago and did pretty good for several months but after hurricane ike hit i let my system slip. Since I have used the screwdriver, usb passthroughs, the jauntystick, and nothing has gotten me back to more than occasional use until now. The amount of vapor is amazing and the battery lasts all day. I have been using 3mg totally wicked so I think I have OD'ed but it is awsome. Amazing work.

The first batch had the ability to use CR2 batteries, we did not recommend, it was at your own risk. The difference in protected/nonprotected batteries is really simple. Protected batteries have an internal pcb to shut the battery down if it is overcharged(4.2v) or undercharged(2.5v) or in the case of a short. Lithium batteries do not like to be overcharged/discharged. There is a possibility of an unprotected battery exploding. Many who already use CR2 batteries know the risk and are used to using them and know the limits. Hope this helps.... not to mention in an emergency you could go to say lowes and buy a set of non rechargeable CR123 for bout $5(with next batch of the SB)

So if I have the original silver bullet can I just order the longer tube to be able to use protected 6v batteries?

I have had my SB for 4 days and have been very happy with it. But today I am in heaven. I got a lower nic content nic juice made more for the higher volt PV and it is the perfect combo for me. If throat hit means the burn that is not what is important to me. What matters to me is vapor production and taste. The flavor is amazing and the vapor is the best I have ever seen. Awesome job on the SB. For the first time in over a eyar I have only had 2 analogs today. Thank you AlsSmoke.

I boght from the first batch with 3.7v, can I buy the extension to use 6.0 protected?

Yes, when it's made available :)

Something I just want to get clarified. Rob will you be offering JUST the longer tube for sale to us gen 1 owners? Or will I need to buy an entirely new unit?

No need to buy the entire unit again, the top portion should screw right into the tube portion :)

That's great news. I remembered reading chad say that they would just screw in like that, but I wasn't sure if you'd be able to sell just the bottom tube due to manufactuering restrictions or whatever.

You can bet I will be in for one of those then. There is PLENTY of room left in my hand for a slightly longer tube with out becoming cumbersome, and that extra bat life will be very welcome. :)
