resistance is resistance if its gold, kanthal, nickle, carbon fiber.... still the same

Yes, 1.0 ohm in kanthal is the same as 1.0 ohm in nickel, but it's going to require a much longer coil with nickel than it will with kanthal. If you want to wind a 1.0 ohm 3 mm coil with 28 gauge kanthal, it will take you 4-1/2 wraps. The same coil in nickel will require 73 wraps. Try to fit that 1.0 ohm nickel coil into a tank or RDA.

Sorry to go off topic of the nickel builds but has what's the lowest resistance you guys have built to?

I told a friend (diehard cloud chaser) to build me something to his liking and he build me a twisted coil on 28g kanthal. (On a doge v1) It was reading at .04 ohms and I was using it on a smpl mech mod with a Sony vtc4

I vaped it once without reading the ohms on the coils and never vaped it again after reading the resistance. I just told him thanks for the build and went to my local shop for a build somewhere in the .5-.6 ohm area (my happy place)

What's the lowest you guys have vaped on?

How were you even able to use a coil that low? At 3.7 volts on a mech mod, a 0.04 ohm coil would be firing at 342 watts and would draw 92.5 amps from your battery. At 4.2 volts, that same coil would need 441 watts and 105 amps. If you were able to get it to fire, you're lucky that the battery didn't overload and burst into flames. Are you sure it wasn't 0.4 ohms?

I've never built below .3 but I usually run up around 1.0 because I'm a flavor guy
