Nickel coil taste?

hey I'm new here. Quick question. Just got my first TC set up but am getting a weird taste from the tank(Freemax Starre Pro on a Snow Wolf). Is it normal to get a weird taste at first? I primed the coils but there's this metallic flavor in every hit. Is this normal? Does it dissipate eventually? I hope so, or back to Kanthal for me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Guys!

I'm having the same issue, I thought mine was from cleaning my tank with alcohol
But I've cleaned it several times and changed coil heads, I haven't gotten a solution either

Hhhmmm... I build my own coils, but I have not noticed any strange taste with nickel wire. I suspect it's something else.

No I'm sorry not the same tank , I just meant with using nickel coils

Nope, I have no metal taste at all with my nickel coils using a Starre on a SnowWolf. I can taste kanthal though when I use that. To me the nickel tastes much cleaner.

I switched back to kanthal because I didn't like the nickel taste at all.

Well it looks like I'll be returning the Freemax. Something's up with it for sure. I've tried everything and can't shake the metallic taste. Guess I'll give the crown a shot cause now I'm weary of Freemax QC.

I'm going to give nickel another shot in a different tank. If I have to go back to Kanthal only...that's fine but I wanna give nickel a fair shake
