Good morning all

back story: I've been a off and on smoker, mostly in casual settings, bars outdoor gatherings, etc etc. About 3 weeks ago i was getting the cravings for a cigarette one day while at the mall and ran across one of those kiosks. There i was introduced to Pv/e-cigs. Short story long i bought one (and after reading now, getting ripped off =/).*

I've been reading now that Smoking/Nicotine can cause blood sugar levels to spike. Was wondering if any Other diabetics (type II) are out there who vape, and can offer some Info on how they deal with it and whether they noticed any effects after heavy vaping.

*$120 for a single 510(one atty/battery), charger and 1 bottle of juice.

Poor newbie, you got ripped off BAD! :(

So, what about in the past when you smoked, did you notice a spike in your glucose? Do you test throughout the day? I'd test it and see what happens. The only concern I'd have is that the bases for out liquids metabolize into glucose -- it might not be that much of a problem because we usually go through only about 3ml per day and 3ml is very little.

Congratulations on giving this a shot!

Can't get passed this price....really?? 120??? that is WAY too high by at least 5 times. Please do yourself a favor and research the suppliers here and read starter kit reviews. Wow.
Anyway, you should probably check that with your doctor. It would have to be the nicotine if it does because there is no smoke with vaping.

Wow at least it was a 510 and not something awful.

This site says
"While smoking can increase your chances of getting diabetes, it can also make managing diabetes more difficult for those who already have it. Other complications of smoking on diabetes include retinopathy (eye disease), heart disease, stroke, vascular disease, kidney disease, nerve damage, foot problems, and many others."
Diabetes and Smoking - Another Reason to Quit

I don't have diabetes but have relatives who do. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor and even makes my fingers or toes cold if I vape too much. That's why I am lowering my nicotine while vaping (which is actually amazingly easy except for needing to accept very low TH since nicotine makes the TH). So I can certainly understand why nicotine's vasoconstrictor properties could be bad for a diabetic.

After my purchase i started looking up Upkeap/maintenance and found suppliers, and after a few youtube video's I went with a supplier online that sells them cheap, if i continue vaping ill grab a real kit from them. Already purchased Some new liquid in Low nicotine content (6/11mg?) to see how that goes. Since getting married I've given up on all my vices of drinking, smoking (nic and other) and other bad habbits. It's just nice to be able to vape now and now worry about my asthma acting up.

Thats good info...In my post I was just talking about the "suger" aspect of it.

There is no sugar in eliquid. It would gunk up the atty. There are sugar substitutes, mainly sucralose (splenda/splendex) or ethyl maltol (which smells like cotton candy or burnt sugar).

After you get used to the cart+atty of the 510, try cartomizers. I recommend Boge soft-cap standard resistance cartos (only the fat-battery models like Ego and Riva can safely use the LR low resistance attys and cartos).

And for the atty+carts, pick up some of the precut blue foam stuffing for 510 at strictlyejuice.com - whent he white cart stuffing gets old and cranky, replace with blue foam.
