Nicotine equiv compared to marlboro lights

Hi Guys,

I'm a bit of a vaping virgin having just picked up my 510 today but so far I love it. I do have one question though. I got HI strength caps with it and have ordered medium vanilla and mint but what are the equivalent mg's of nicotine.

Looking at a box of marlboro I see that it has .05 of nicotine but I belive e-cigs have a lot more. I know too much nicotine can give you pretty bad headaches and would like to avoid that if at all possible.

I too smoked marb lights, among others "back in my analog days". Though its only been 2 weeks since i started vaping, i had my first analog this weekend- a marb light, and i couldnt stand it. I took a few drags and i can truly say that i did not enjoy it. I love the throat hit of a vape and now analogs simply dont match up for me anymore. Plus im breathing better and feel amazing.

Since you smoked marb lights, id recommend getting an 11mg juice, and possibly try out a 18mg juice as well. When i ordered, i got 11, 18, and 24; the 24 was far too strong, and while i could puff on the 11 for a while, an few hits of the 18mg and my craving was sated.

From what i understand you absorb less nicotine through vaping because the juice lacks the additives placed in cigarettes to proliferate the absorption of nicotine.

All in all, id recommend a good 11mg juice with some 18mg as a back up, feel it out. everyones experiences are different so you really wont know untill you've tried it out. I personally like to smoke both, it really depends on the flavors as well. Additionally, if you smoked alot while drinking, the higher nic levels really do the job as you "feel" the hit more effectively.

The flavours are medium and after some checking it seems they are twelve. The ones that came with it are 18mg and seem to stop any craving. I suppose the best thing to do is wait until the juice arrives and see if they hold the cravings at bay!

I smoked marlboro ultra lights before quitting and started with 18mg juice, it seemed just about right for me.

I am an ex-Winston light 100's user and 18mg does me just fine if the juice has a good flavor and TH. Since vaping and coffee are my only vices I have left, I do tend to abuse the 24mg quite a bit with no problems.

I was smoking just shy of two packs a day of non-filters(hand rolled) and thought I'd need nico-crack 36mg. Way too strong and it took two months and elevated blood pressure to convince my obstinate ... to cut back. I'm doing fine now with 18mg(no cravings) and may cut it back a bit further yet.

ya I smoked a pack a day of marlboro menthols and got some free samples of 36mg menthol and coffe flavored when I bought my PV and I also think 36mg is too strong so I ordered some 24mg to cut back a little but I guess it all depends on the individual person really but I wouldnt recommend going any stronger than 24mg if you smoked marlboro lights.

You cannot really equate the nic content of juice to the little print on the side of a packs of analogs. Far, far too many variables.

Instead, I'd also say, 18 is a good place to start, and do get yourself a bottle of high nic juice, and a no-nic of the same flavour, and try out for yourself what you need. Although I'd say there is an excellent change that whatever you need the first few days is not what you need later. Learning curve and all that.

Alex and the others are quite right - it varies form person to person and often bears NO relation to what cigs you were smoking. Remember, you are now getting ONLY nicotine, not nic + 4000 other chemicals as well.
What is good for me may not be good for you. Experiment, and find a good level that holds off cravings but doesn't make you feel ill.
Find a nice flavor (this can take time, theres a lot out there, and be open with your choices) and a reliable PV that suits your pocket and lifetstyle, and away you go.
Also keep in mind that you may not give up cigs right off the bat - it may take time while you reduce conventional smoking, or you may find you quit immediately and don't look back. Both are 'ok' options - take it slow and do what feels right to you.

I smoked Marlboro lights menthol and B&H ultra light menthols and am having success with the 10 and 12 mg strength liquids. As with the analogs, I "vape" a lot more at night, but haven't needed to supplement with analogs.

Ahhh, good ole' Winston light 100's! That's my current poison, and what I'll be trying to kick as soon as my first kit gets here (should be tomorrow).

When I ordered I went with a combo of 16mg, 18mg. and 24mg. I figure it's a good starting point till I get a feel for what works best.
