Got a question. I have smoked for 30 years, 1 pack a day of Camel full flavor 99's (just shorter than a 100). I smoked 1 an hour. What I don't want to do in vaping is increase my addition to nicotine. I am now vaping once an hour but wanted to know what you guys think the proper mg of nicotine is for me based on what my analog intake was. I tried 24mg out of the gate and it gave me a rapid heartbeat and a bit of light headedness. So, I am now cutting that in half with VG. I just want to make sure I'm not overdoing it. I'm a 41 year old female and not a spring chicken like many of you. Don't want to go from the frying pan into the fire if you know what I mean. My ultimate goal is to one day go to 0mg nic. I appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Another possibility is to get a DIY mixing kit. If you want to gradually cut your nic use, I think this might be the best option. It's the way I'm going (unfortunately I have to wait until Monday after the furnace repair guy gets here to see if I can afford it this week.) I want to cut to 0 nic gradually over the next year.

I went from a pack a day a year ago, to about 10-15 a day in 2009 (Camel Wide Lights.) Usually on the 10 a day side. I decided to go with 11mg juice. At first it didn't seem to be doing the trick, but after a few days I've adjusted to it.

Vaping delivers a bit less than half of the nicotine in the liquid, so if you vape 1ml of 24 mg a day you would get closer to 12 mg of actual nicotine in your system per day.

You'll find your level as you have already made an adjustment according to how you feel. Just keep taking cues from your body as you have done. You might find your pattern changes in that you vape a lot more than when you smoked, but don't let that bother you. As I said, vaping is pretty inefficient at delivering the nic, so if you're drawing a lot on a lower nic liquid it tends to even out. Just go by the feedback you get from your body.

41, and not a spring chicken?? I wish I could see 41 again. (I'd even settle for 51.:()

Cutting 24mg down to 12mg is a good idea if you think you're getting too much. Just go with what works best for you, and listen to your body. I smoked 2 packs for over 40 years, and 18mg works for me with no problems. 36mg made me nauseous, 24mg made me dizzy, 18mg seems to be good for me, and on some good days, I hit some 9mg.

Don't try to over do the research and numbers. Everyone is different. When you reach a comfortable level, go with it.

Cheers;

SInce I switched to Ecigs, I found that I wasn't addicted to the nicotine as much as I was to the act of smoking. Started at 36mg and I am currently down to 12mg. Thinking about cutting down to 8mg soon since I still haven't gotten that nicotine craving. Perhaps I can cut out nicotine totally.

Been off analogs for a couple months now. Marl Red - 1 pack a day.
