Here is a rough guide I found at
*NEW* 1000ml Bottle of Flavored Nicotine E-Liquid E-Juice | E-9 Style Electric Cigarettes

...
The E-Smoking Liquid has these different levels of nicotine to choose from:

* Super High density of nicotine: 36 mg nicotine, which is equivalent to Super Strong Cigarettes. (we are the only company that still offers 36mg eliquid)
* Extra High density of nicotine: 24 mg nicotine, which is equivalent to Extra Strong Cigarettes.
* High density of nicotine: 16 mg nicotine, which is equivalent to Regular Strength Cigarettes.
* Medium density of nicotine: 11 mg nicotine, which is equivalent to Medium Strength Cigarettes.
* Low density of nicotine: 6 mg nicotine, which is equivalent to Ultra Light Strength Cigarettes.
* Non density of nicotine: 0 mg nicotine, which is equivalent to No Nicotine.

Everybody is different honestly. I smoked 3-4 PAD Camel Lights and started off with 24mg, which just wasn't doing anything for me other than maybe cutting me down to 2 PAD. I ended up going with 36mg and vaping 3-4ml per day I got down to about 5 cigarettes a day. Now I'm still at 36mg, but cutting back to 24 since I found 6 volt vaping, and use maybe 3ml a day with maybe a few cigarettes a week for variety.

*Edit* I forgot to add: Personally I would recommend you go with 24mg. That should satisfy most of your urges with ease. If you are like me, you'll need to vape like a mad man after eating and in the morning, but the rest of the times should be okay.

check out Kristen's frequently asked questions in the new member forum. She has an answer to your question that is more precise. She put a lot of research in it and that blog has a lot of helpful information.

You can't be precise because everybody is different. Two people can both smoke 30 cigarettes a day, of the same brand, for the same length of time, and need different nicotine mg. There are too many variables such as how much of the cigarette you actually smoke, how many drags are taken off that cigarette, how you inhale, whether it be a light or deep inhale, etc.

The best you can do is come up with a rough starting point and go from there. Even then we can't agree. Some people say to start low and work up so you don't get too much nicotine, while others say to start high and work down so you can cut your juice and not waste it.

In the world of e-cigs, there is no such thing as precise.

I smoke 1.5 packs a day for 20 years. 24mg sometimes but mostly 36mg but also depends on the voltage you use

3.7 volts I use 36 all the way no nic jitters
5.0 I use 24mg and sometimes 18mg

but have found my happy spot with 3.7 and 36mg nic.

When I first quit I keep some 48mg around when I was freaking out for nic and detoxing from the other 4000 chemicals they put in cigs.

Smoke free proud to be.. My son says I smell like donuts most of the time.

i quit analogs cold turkey. i noticed after awhile i would get a foggy type of cotton head. when i up the nic to 24 mg it goes away so i keep some 24mg around but mostly use 18mg. I'm pretty sure it's a nic withdrawel thing cuz i have a friend who had the same experience who said it went away when she had an analog

I just started and my Ego kit came with "high" prefilled carts..I also bought bottled juice 2 16mg's and an 11mg along with a bottle of VG in case I needed to weaken anything.
I've had a few moments where I could indeed say NIC FIT and would have wanted to amp it up a tad.... but for the main stay its been OK... I will entertain a small bottle of 18mg on my next order, but feel that if I am looking to reduce my dependency on nicotine, a small battle WON is going a wee bit lower and just dealing with it.

There really is no need to go into nic withdrawals. You will find that it is easier to reduce your dependency on nicotine without having to suffer than you may think. Perhaps it is the slower absorption rate, and the fact that the nicotine seems to not break down as fast when vaping vs smoking, but your nicotine dependence will gradually lower all on it's own. I went from 4ml of 36mg per day, to about 2 maybe 2-1/2ml per day now, and I have some 24mg on it's way. Dealing with nic fits are a good way to insure that you keep craving cigarettes IMO
