Nowadays, we are offered plenty of nicotine replacement therapies: nicotine patches or gums, sprays, lozenges, and prescription drugs but it is nearly impossible to find statistics about how successful they are or aren't. So why are we advised to try all these methods without being averted that they might not work? As a matter of fact the phrase "results may vary" is used as an excuse in case the chosen option failed to bring the expected outcomes.
Science proved that e-cigarettes are valid cessation tools. It is such a pity that the smokers who are struggling to quit are deliberately misled by their doctors, organizations and the media: Smoking cessation and Nicotine Replacement Therapy: results may vary

Quitting is easy. Smokers do it 20 times a day. The problem has always been relapse. The temporary fixes might help some people for a while then most go back to smoking. Puclic Health scavengers benefit from the high failure rate. They have no incentive to do anything about it. Ecigs aren't a "cure" the way the others pretend to be. The better word would be immunization. As long as you vape smoking is curtailed 80-100%. My observation is if people don't stop vaping eventually they will stop smoking and not relapse. There are people who hang on to a few cigarettes a day indefinitely. What will they do in the long run? Too soon to tell but I consider 80% reduction to be an important improvement.

All the "charitable" orgs benefit from the high failure rate, along with BT and BP obviously (people going back to smoking is right up BT's alley, and then those people STILL need to quit, so they buy more useless NRT.. or they get sick and need BP's expensive drugs!), and the gov't too, since the largest cost of a pack of cigarettes is TAXES. So just who is that "charity" for? Certainly not the smokers, they're getting gouged all over; their money, their health, their lives. They all (except for BT!) say that they hate smoking, which obviously means they hate smokers, too -- making smokers stand outside in pouring rain or freezing cold sure isn't charitable -- and yet now that millions are finally able to quit, thx to vaping... they've all decided that no, we really should smoke! But I don't see them making any new allowances for smokers -- no laws changing, allowing smokers back indoors, no taxes being repealed to make cigarettes more attractive -- they just want our money, they don't give a single crap about our health at all! NONE of them!

Vaping has worked for me. I have tried some of the older things, but, they don't work and since they are made by BT and BP, I don't have trust in the chemicals. My doctor even said, 'good". Just me.

In using vaping to get away from cigs, I did not accept failure. Back-ups, back-ups, back-ups.

That's one of the really interesting things about all this. Their mantra is we should stop smoking so we'll be healthier but in the vaping controversy what's painfully obvious is they care nothing about the health of smokers. They are so focused on what ever it might be that they do care about THEY don't notice that they don't care.

But we notice.

This month marks my 5th year Vapeversery. Therapy is for different types of conditions. For myself I feel I need NO therapy for something I actually enjoyed, possibly all the way to the grave. I like my nic-kick. When a friend of mine had an ecig I was intrigued. My wife has COPD, We were not going to quit, but then vaping came into our lives. A better ALTERNATIVE. I enjoy vaping more than I did the stinkies and will not look back. Ditto for my wife, she have only had 2 lung infections in 4 years compared to 4 to 5 a year smoking. As we have choices in grocery stores of veggies or organic veggies, we have that CHOICE. We should have that same choice here. What do you like on your pancakes, syrup or gasoline. I vape my pancakes with syrup.

That's exactly how I feel -- I had no interest in giving up smoking, just in giving up freezing to death outdoors to indulge in it. I wanted something to "smoke" indoors, and for many years, I wanted to be a non-smoker, without having to go thru the hell of quitting smoking to get there -- which is pretty much exactly what I got from vaping.

And I don't really give a single damn what they think, in their idiocy; if you aren't lighting cigarettes and inhaling the smoke, that makes you a non-smoker, PERIOD.
