There has been a lot of concern over some shocking reports of a nicotine supplier that was sending out batches of nicotine that was wildly mislabeled and was much stronger than stated. You can see the main thread on this topic here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...on-we-have-problem-nic-titration-results.html

I want to reassure all of my customers that I do not, nor have I ever, purchased my nicotine from this company. Additionally, as a safety precaution for both my customers and myself, I never buy, use or have in my e-liquid kitchen any nicotine over 48 mg/mL for exactly this kind of reason. It costs me extra, but mistakes do happen and I don't feel it is worth the risk. This has always been my policy since the very start of my business.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Annette, I really think after all this controversy that all vendors should at least test their nic supplies with the kit available on Ebay. It's not dead on accurate but you can get a ballpark reading, just because a label says it's such and such doesn't mean squat. Not only is there controversy surrounding BE but many are questioning RTS and Randy's claims of his nic being processed in the USA. Personally I don't care where the nic comes from as long as it's at the strength advertised. I so prefer the EcoPure nic as a base, but it is expensive. Just my 2 cents, but lots of folks feel the same way now, and lots of them hadn't a clue until yesterday.

Already got one, Joanr. I know they're not super reliable, but they should at least red flag anything that's way out of line. Still reading through the whole thread on this issue. And yeah, I wish I could make all my e-liquids with just the ECO, especially after hearing about all of this!

That is the way to go! So glad you are doing that Annette, better safe than sorry for sure. It will make all of us feel so much better knowing that you are testing before it gets to us.

What the blue blazes? Oh geez. Haven't checked that thread since yesterday so missed the whole 'out of usa' possibility thing about RTS. I don't know... I've only dealt with Randy briefly, but he's pretty virulently opposed to doing business at all with ANY vendors out of USA if there's a conceivable possible usa source. I don't think I've ever dealt with any businessman in any capacity who was more focused on USA business. Gonna go peek, but I've gotta say that would surprise the heck out of me, personally.

Thanks, Annette, for being extra careful and getting test just to be safe. So ridiculous that one vendor being so cavalier and contradictory over what really could have been a short term problem has scared all of us so tremendously. I'm sure you juice vendors are freaking out way more than us clients, even. What a big silly mess that could have been resolved so simply!

I want to say thank you for the full disclosure of your nicotine source Annette. Unlike Mrs T, who has lost my business and recommendation, transparency is now paramount.

I would ask if you would be willing to follow up on Joanr's suggestion? You have my continued business and recommendation, but I would like to see juice vendors that I use (which is now just you) perform independent testing on their product. There is a statistical process that can be used so that not every juice batch needs to be tested but just the occasional random one. I don't know what it is, but I am sure there is some one here who can help out.

I am not up to speed on the RTS issue, but if its regonality is the only issue, that is not an actual issue. However, independent testing of your own product renders any such issues moot. I think, for a small operation like yours, all of your customers trust you enough that you can do the testing yourself, at least till there is a process/independent entity that gets established to do it. Maybe contact Kurt and see if you can get simple training to do it?

I've actually already started doing testing with my first few batches tested this week. So far all batches have tested right on target. It takes a few minutes, but it's really not difficult to do and I'm sure I'll get faster at it with practice. I'm just going to test every batch for now. If everything comes in where it should be consistently, I may change to just spot testing here and there in the future, but for now, I'm just going to test each one.
