anyone care to give an opinion on the length of time involved with nic withdrawal? for tobacco i have always know this to be a 3 month process. am past my first month. the worst of the chemicals have left my body. another two months for my organs to remove whatever traces are left. but i am curious about people who switched down to 0 nic. can anyone estimate the time it took to get over the craving for nicotine alone? or when it was you didn't mind the absence of nic from your body.

I've been through it twice. First time I had no idea what it was, just that I thought I was dying. Went to the Dr. after a couple of weeks of the worst flu symptoms I'd ever had but with no fever at all. Finally while talking to the Dr. I mentioned that I had stopped smoking a couple of weeks earlier and should feel better, shouldn't I?

He then explained nicotine withdrawal and offered me some nicotine gum. I had tried that before and I would rather eat dog crap so I asked if I could use just a small amount of a sweet chewing tobacco to get the nicotine and was told that as long as I could eventually stop that too, it would work so that's what I did. Worked like a charm. Took me about another month doing this and I stopped the nicotine intake all together but I never stopped wanting the other cigarette things. Lasted about 6 months and I was smoking again.

I'm now vaping for a little over a month (no cigarettes at all) and sometimes I vape something with no nicotine but most times it is either at a 12mg or 18mg level. Don't really care if I get off the nicotine at this time.

For the first month you may not want to try lowering your nicotine, unless you feel overdose symptoms. You are trying to replace smoking with vaping. Once you have vaping firmly set in your habits, then it's a good time to lower nicotine.

I am at 82 days since I've had an analog, and I've worked my way down to 3.6 mg/ml. It seems vastly easier to me to lower my nicotine strength by small amounts, so I mix e-liquids to the strength that I want. As I've lowered my nicotine, I did hit something like threshhold points where I had cravings. After 2 or 3 days, the cravings seem to lighten.

Lastly, as you learn to use e-cigarettes and buy better gear, you will get more efficient at getting nicotine into your body. You may need to lower your nicotine levels just to not feel overdosed.

I was a half a pack a day smoker and switched to 6mg nic in my Juices. I haven't picked up an analog in over a month (going on 2!) I kept the low dosage so I could vape a lot without worrying too much. Occasionally i'll vape a 0mg Juice at home as that is where I find my self vaping just to vape. At work I only get out about 3 times during the day. You could probably mix 50% 6mg and 50% 0mg to ween off it also.
