I know I should be posting this in the Health section but no one really goes there.

For the past month I have been getting the feeling in the back of my throat as if I'm about to gag but it would never reach that point, just like a pulse or hint of it. Not enough to actually be concerned with gagging. The feeling goes away when I'm working out or doing any cardio, eating and about half an hour after I finish and is absent in the first few hours after I wake up. I recently narrowed the causes down to my e-cig. I feel as though the sensation becomes stronger after I use it for even just a few hits.

Today, parts of the right side of my face were somewhat relaxed for no reason, mainly the upper cheek bone area. Concerned, I looked up the symptoms and found nicotine poisoning. Although I vape 12mg of nicotine, ever since I've been getting the throat feeling, I don't vape that much and some days not at all.

Anyone else experience nicotine poisoning or have heard/had any of these symptoms?

Also, I've never actually completely ignored my ecig so starting today I'll stop vaping for about a week and see if it goes away because now it's getting annoying.

Maybe you're having a stroke?

"The initial symptoms are mainly due to stimulatory effects and include nausea and vomiting, excessive salivation, abdominal pain, pallor, sweating, hypertension, tachycardia, ataxia, tremor, headache, dizziness, muscle fasciculations, and seizures". - Schep LJ, Slaughter RJ, Beasley DM (September–October 2009). "Nicotinic plant poisoning". Clinical Toxicology (Philadelphia, Pa.) 47 (8): 771–81.

For me I mostly just notice my stomach hurts and I'm a little nauseous. That's usually when I know its time to back off... I'm not a doctor or giving medical advice but sounds like your issue might be something else or from another substance?

I'm not a medical professional, nor have I ever experienced nicotine poisoning, but it doesn't seem to me like that is likely your cause. I would THINK that there would be other noticeable symptoms when dealing with nicotine poisoning, such as dizziness, nausea, upset stomach, vomiting, etc. At 12mg/mL of nicotine, you really aren't getting that nicotine, even if you vape all day/everyday.

Also, if it IS nicotine poison, then you shouldn't need a week of abstaining from nicotine to verify. A single day should be able to determine whether or not nicotine is the cause. Simply stop vaping from the time you wake up, to the time you go to sleep for a full day (24 hours). If your symptoms are all gone, then it could possibly be nicotine poisoning, although I still think it is more likely an agitation , not poisoning.

If any of the symptoms are still there, even mildly, then it ISNT nicotine poisoning...I'm pretty sure it isn't at least.

best not self diagnose and go see a doctor, too many do this and honesly there is too much conditions out there that give the same symptoms. my partner was at the doctors there for nearly a year with adminol pains which the doctor put down to urine infections but after a year of pain and 20 odd visits to the doctor and 3 hospital emergency visits it was discovered to be kidney stones that where quite big. I asked the head doctor how this could happen and take a year to find out to which he replyed that so many contions have the same symptoms it can be hard without the right equipment. even with a ultra sound and xray they couldnt tell and was only discovered with a mri scan.

we tryed to self diagnose and I can tell you now we had a list of about 30 things it could be with all the same symptoms to show the doctor. best thing is to get a cheek up by the doctor as it could be anything.

That's the first thing I thought of relating to the numbness but symptoms for a month and no stroke? Nah.

I can't really think of anything else that could cause these symptoms. I just want the feeling to go away. It's all I can think about

I don't know, but I highly doubt it is nicotine poisoning. You said this has been going on for a MONTH at least.....so thats 30+ days of poisoning your body with higher levels of nicotine then it can manage? Doesn't seem likely.....especially not from 12mg/mL.

It can't be an allergy. I was vaping for 4 months straight before this occured with no problems.

I don't know about seeing a doctor. I've been there twice. Once for perfect circle patches of my hair just disappearing, did some tests, asked some questions and all they said was we don't know. And once for my heart vibrating when doing cardio. Paid some money, tests, questions, all to hear "We don't know"

Maybe if it continues for another month I'll go

You're making way too many assumptions for your own good. People do develop allergic reactions at any point in their life. Not all allergic reactions are like "I tried something once and I ended up in an ambulance 20 minutes later." It could be a stroke symptom, might even be Bel's palsy. We don't now! You don't know! If you are concerned and don't wanna wake up dead go get it checked out!

Bel's palsy was the first thing that came to my mind when I read about the numbness on the side of the face.

And back tracking the OP's posts regarding nic level and limited usage the last thing it sounds like is a nicotine OD.

WebMD et al can be a very, very bad idea for some people...

I'm confused...if you where a smoker before and vaped for 4 months........dont have any of the basic Nic over dose signs........ what in the world is making you think its Nicotine?

A guy I was talking to at a party saw I was using an e-cig and told me he tried a disposable blu-cig, got sick with constant vomiting and the doctor told him he got nicotine poisoning. I thought the feeling in my throat, which I obviously can't clearly describe, was like the beginning of the sickness as if I've been on the verge of it since I would stop vaping, wait for it to briefly go away and then continue and it would return.
