I'm on wellbutrin, so nicotine seems to do /nothing/. I don't get sick from it as long as I take my wellbutrin but I don't get a rush from it either. However at least part of my addiction is the action of smoking, especially if I'm drinking, so I used vaping to replace that and it's nearly as effective in calming as if I wasn't on wellbutrin. It's why I get 0 mg liquid. :)

wellbutrin is/was prescribed as a smoking cessation drug, probably why..

a big part for me is also the hand to mouth and inhale, exhale - that's why vaping works!

I think that's awesome you're on 0mg. I really commend you on that one. I tried the whole wellbutrin/chanitx route and it didn't work for me. I think one of the reasons being the physical act of smoking, I don't know. I'm at 18mg and that's a huge step-down from 24mg, so I see that as a little success. Maybe next year I'll attempt 12mg. I have some stressors in my life (don't we all), so I'm not removing any more nicotine right now. But I'm super happy about you being at 0mg!!! Go you!

Thank you, appreciate it. :D yeah I'm on wellbutrin for depression (it's a much higher dose then "Zyban" branding) so that probably contributes as well but wellbutrin combined with vaping basically makes it good reduced risk then smoking. and I'm not going nuts because cigarettes taste like .... now.
You know, it took me a long time to realize that smoking actually stinks. I was just walking on campus last week and passed some smokers (smoking is not allowed on campus, but who cares, really) and it really smelled bad! Like really bad! I can't believe I used to smell that way. We never smoked in the house thank goodness, but my coats and cars really trapped that cig smoke.

So happy to be free. :)

My wife still smokes and for what ever reason the cars/herself don't smell at all. It might be the cigarettes she smokes? Though she always smokes outdoors. But I have found almost everyone else i come across who smokes is just awful.
I'm really beginning to think it's an indoor/outdoor thing.

Wellbutrin is what I was prescribed when I quit cold turkey. My insurance company wouldn't pay for Zyban because it was a smoking cessation drug. My dr said I would be on it for at least 6 months. I took it for 30 days. I guess my desire and mind frame at the time was once on the Wellbutrin I didn't have a desire to replace smoking with any other "habit" for want of a better word. After the first day of no cigarettes I never missed it except while driving. At my check up today, my doctor was happy that I wasn't inhaling carcinogens any longer but she had to tell me all about the toll nicotine itself is taking on my arteries. According to her, the nicotine itself is what constricts and hardens the arteries and when I go back in February that I am to be nicotine free. Maybe, maybe not.

And people who smoke stink to me! I hate it when my grandson's father brings him home on Sunday's and Noah reeks of cigarette smoke. First thing I do is strip him, put him in the tub and his clothes go in the washer. Lol

Nicotine is some pretty caustic stuff yeah, by itself it can do some bad stuff, but still less then smoke inhalation can do of course. I just would always smoke like a chimney whenever I went out to like a bar, or movies or whatever with friends. And /that/ is the major habit trigger.

Same here...I bought an ecig on the 11th of July with the intention of never smoking another cigarette. Went to the beach to visit a friend, we hit a few clubs and bummed cigarettes the entire night. The ecig wasn't enough. I went to the store and bought my own pack. It was only after I got home and removed from the bar/club scene that I was able to completely give up cigarettes.

I'm not sure my doctor would be able to walk to their car if they spoke to me like that! No longer inhaling carcinogens - ever been stuck behind a bus?

Let's consider the relationship here for one second: i pay you money to tell me if something is radically wrong. I quit smoking.
You tell me how it's gonna be next visit?? LMAO really!

Your arteries will get harder as you age regardless of what you do. Maybe you ought to ask your doctor to stop time, especially since for the price of a visit to mine i'd expect a lapdance from a receptionist covered in gold leaf!

Yep ST, I totally agree! I was there for a blood pressure check. I refuse to take high bp meds for a bp that has been 140/80 for the last 10 years. It's borderline high she says. Well when it gets high we'll discuss it! Not until.

'your blood pressure is high Trunker'

'great - when it stops let HRH know'

'you may be pre-diabetic' - 'you may be pre-pregnant', so are we trying to medicate a healthy population now?

'your kidneys may be at risk - you need to see a specialist'. piss off.

'Can't you read - it says no smoking in here?' 'i'm not smoking and what's your BP now?'

Yep! You and I think a lot alike! When it's broken, I'll fix it. And I have hypoglycemia so I'm already a diabetic. :D

Now this is something I can totally identify with!

I actually accepted the BP meds (I can only tolerate 12mg, so cut them in quarters) and I take half of one an hour before, and eat a decent size chicken sandwich half an hour before I go for my check - holds the BP down well under 140 systolic - often around 132/75! The 1/2 tablet makes me lethargic for the rest of that day, but at least it works.
I learned to do that after being made to jump through hoops a year ago. My BP goes up when I visit the doctors every time, and it's never been that low anyway.
It's no different now when using around .4 mg a lot of the time to what it was when smoking around 36 cigarettes every day!

I certainly don't take any of the BP meds every day ..in fact not always every week - only 1/4 at night if I know mine is up for whatever reason.

Do you have one of those days when you are incredibly stressed? Today is one of those days. I stayed up wayyyy to late working on a 12+ paper for school.

This morning it feels like I'm just not getting enough Nicotine. I've been vaping like heck ever since I woke up. I'm at the max, 18mg. Been going through the Virus and GCD like it's going out of style. I just feel like I'm not getting that nicotine fix.

Do you guys ever experience this? Will it go away soon? Days like this, I really think about picking a pack of Marlboro Reds up just to immediately fix that problem. But, I'm not. But that craving is still there.

How do you guys cope with days like this?

xoxoxo,
Dani

Dani I was at 92 days smoke free when I had the worse urge ever. It made me mad that after that long I still had cravings. I turned the anger into an all out war against them daum analogs. I put in some 18mg and vaped like a mad man until I was sick, then went to bed and slept it off. I am coming up on a year now and I can still remember that event like it was yesterday.
