Nimbus Getting To Hot

Ok, so I'm a noob when it comes to rba's as I just recently got a mech mod 2 weeks ago w/ the Igo-L.

I just recently purchased a Nimbus and has finally arrived. My problem is that every time I use the Nimbus, it overheats real bad compared to the Igo-L. I don't know if it has to do w/ the holes that are on the side. The Nimbus has 2 holes and it looks like it was never drilled to make it bigger unlike my Igo-L. The mod I am using it on is the Bagga V2.

That wire looks thick. If its 28ga, then a 2/3 wrap would be about .7ohms. So a dual .7 would run about .35ohms. With a freshly charged battery at 4.2 volts, your pushing 12.5 amps and 50watts. Thats super super hot. And possibly dangerous. I wouldnt hit that too long, your battery is going to heat up.

Try adding a few more wraps to each coil to raise the resistance.

@gwe2000 Thanks for the info. Don't really know what they used as far as wires go. The place I purchased this from sent it to me like this already, pre made w/ the wick and wires.

There's like 2 coils on each side of my Nimbus.

But you are right though, this thing gets super super hot. I'll take it back to the shop.

Before you proceed, you should stop and figure out what exactly you have there. A quad coil would be dividing it by half twice for example, dual .8 ohm coils would net you .4, now do a quad of same setup you are running a .2 ohm setup. Please do us all a favor and figure out what you are using before you melt your face off

You need to do some home work. You are probably pulling enough current to be dangerous unless you've got really good batteries. That mod, being all brass isn't adding any resistance to the circuit either, adding to the strain on the battery. The shop that sold the setup to you needs to rethink their policies or increase their liability insurance. A person really needs a solid grasp on what's going on before playing with these kind of setups.

Thanks for all your info. I stopped using it for the time being until I can take it back and have them redo it. I am currently using my Igo-L again.

Please..... take the time to study up on RBA and low coil building.... Please. Vaping is a wonderful hobby, but it takes time and study if you are really going to get much enjoyment and satisfaction compared to frustration & injury.

Read, watch YouTubes find Brick & Mortar shops that offer classes. You will be healthier, happier and have far more enjoyment in the long run.

I would have to agree with most of the posts here. in rebuildables, I personally would never vape anything that I haven't set up myself, and by the time I did make my set ups I knew exactly what I was vaping.
