Hey all,

I got a nitecore I4 that I use to charge my 26650s. I'm having a problem as of late where the batteries will show 3 solid lights (done) and then if I put them back on the charger, they start charging again the second time with only 2 solid lights and the third one blinking. After this second charge, if I put the battery back on there it will imediately go to 3 solid lights telling me they're good and will not charge again.

Can anyone explain why it takes 2 cycles to have these batteries fully charged? Each cycle seems to be somewhere in the ballpark of 3-5 hrs. If it helps, I have 3 EFEST 3.7V 4200mah 26650s..one of which I bought maybe a week ago. The others are ~2-3 months old.

Nitecore has overcharging protection and trickle charging. When a battery is charging the internal temperature heats up a little. This makes the battery read a higher resistance to the charger.
After the charging cycle completes and the cell cools, if you put it back on the charger it will read the battery as 99% charged and then will trickle charge. This is more of a battery conditioning tool than anything.
