So I got my first mod in to day with the Nitecore I2 charger and 2 18650 batteries. I plugged it in to charge them (2 batteries) and just check on it and the upper part of the back seems to be getting fairly warm. I wouldn't say it's hot, just fairly warm. The batteries themselves are also just a tad warm but not quite as warm as the back of the charger.

Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

Just a side effect of the charging/turning the electricity coming out of your wall into the usable version (I know I know, so many technical words, leave me alone :p). You know how laptop power supplies get hot? Or maybe sometimes your phone while its charging will get hot/warm? It's the same thing.

Ok guys thanks. Yes the batteries got fully charged and everything cooled down. I do feel better now but I will be mindful of where I place the charger.
Yes...always let your Li Ion batteries have a cooling down or "stabilizing" period before you drop em in your rig and start hammering them with current draw!!!!

My NiteCore gets warm (not hot but warm) when it's charging...
