xtar WPII 2 going on 18 months now - zero problems.

Not sure what xtar you are looking at but the WPII 2 only comes in at about twenty bucks. xtar's come with a 2 year warranty too.

Seeing too many complaints about Nitecore stuff on the board - from wrong power cords, cords separating at the power connector exposing the 120 v wire, to the occasional "up in smoke" problem.

I think those are Can't Trustfires.

I have the i2, since I don't charge more than two batteries at a time. I like that you can charge different sized batteries simultaneously.

CHARGERS

You can do that too with any of the Xtars. Except the couple of battery specific chargers designed for things like 16350's only.

That doesn't seem like such a great deal. Those are protected batteries and won't work with a ProVari.

The same charger is $19.95 from RTD and AW IMR 18650 (do you have the extension cap?) 2000mAh batteries are $11.27 each.

Battery chargers at RTD Vapor

Thanks. I will keep an eye on it. I only charge batteries when I am in the room anyway. A Pila just isn't in my budget.

You is welcome. Singed kitty fur is just nasty. (Makes for crabby kitties too.)

Pila is good but it's really dated and over priced at this point. I check the technical reviews at the flashlight nerdy sights. The Xtar WPII 2 charges I would have to say 95% similar to a Pila. In other words, the difference in the way the WPII 2 charges compared to a Pila is technically insignificant.

Then when you get to the Xtar VP1 the charging curve is identical to a Pila. But for the same price as a Pila you get an oLED status display, no spacers needed, can charge batteries as small as 10440's because the charging current is selectable: 250 mA, 500 mA or 1 amp - and that 2 year warranty thing. (Places that build crap don't generally bet it will last two years.)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come off like a crabby cat.

No no no! I said singed fur makes for crabby kitties! I'm trying to prevent that whole crabby from happening with your NightFireCore charger! Then it would be smellies instead of smilies! lol

Besides, you can make anyone melt into goo with an Occy kitten pic like that. (It's one of your secret powers.)

Have to go (try to) get a cat out of a tree. (Not kidding.) So far kitty hasn't been interested in getting down.

The entire point of this thread is to find something that ships with the correct cord so I don't have to go to radioshack and spend more money on a different cord. Why is that funny?

Thank you to those of you that actually posted useful information.

It might be useful to someone who is willing to spend some money... This is a public forum and someone else may have ordered a us cord and received the wrong one.

I guess from your original post and the other posts it may be a crap shoot what cord you get with this charger. If your dead set on it, it may turn out to be useful to you after all... Get a charging bag too... Bwahaha ;)

It will be okay. How often do you see dead cats up in trees that have starved?

Tis true. Tis also complicated. Sis adopted a couple schizo young cats, born to a feral mother, so their behavior is 60% feral 40%... not. They spook if you breath, avoid faces feet and hands like you're a godzilla, can't pick them up... (How she is ever gonna get these cats to a vet I'll never know.) Intense feral cat instincts. One got out, freaked out - right up a bank of pines. She sorta comes down lower - then if you come anywhere near her she shoots right back up. (That whole avoid people feral thing.) Getting her down is going to be 40% of the battle. Getting her back in the house...

That's too bad. Feral kitties make me sad. :(
