No contact when carto is screwed in to the end

Hi, I hope I can find some answers here.

I'm a proud owner of a RIVA 510 set for some months now.
Had no issues what so ever,
however this week one of my batteries wouldn't charge on the charger (light remained green).
I sarted unscrewing my battery and noticed the light turned red when I loosened it a little.
I charged the battery for a couple of hours, the light was still red, but seeing that more than four hours had past I took it off the charger and tested the light, the battery worked.
I screwed in a BOGE cartomizer, but it wouldn't fire.
When I unscrewed it just a litlle the carto started working again.

What's really weird is that Kangers don't have an issue with being screwed in to the end at all,
only the charger and the BOGE cartomizers.

Anyone know if I can adjust something to get it back in pristine condition?
Any help is very much appreciated.

clean all the contacts with isopropal and qtips, then pull the center pin up on your charger, the battery, and the carto, use a dental pick, safety pin, or tweezers to do this, a half a millimeter or so should do it.

First, try to wipe all contacts clean. Charger, e-cig, all cartos.
Then lightly pick at center contact on CARTO and charger with your fingernail. Be gentle.

Contact seating depth on e-cig batteries can vary a few thousandths of an inch, maybe 0.1mm. Once compressed, contact will be erratic.

Try NOT to mess with center contact on e-cig battery. There is a very small wire soldered inside.

You may be able to file a very small amount off the battery shell contact to reduce seating depth. This would void you warranty for sure.

they're already out of warranty,
If it was a centre pin issue, wouldn't I need to screw it down further to get contact?
Now I have to loosen it to make contact...
This makes me think the problem is the shell contact and not the pin contact...
I don't know... I'm just not technically addept.

You are correct. My suggestion about shaving the shell contact to decrease contact depth would make contact sooner. If backing it out a fraction of a turn make contact then maybe just a cleaning would do it.
Just avoid messing with the center pin on the riva. (the most expensive part of your setup )

And now it's completely dead...
To be honest, the bettery fell out of my pocket af few moments ago.
The light on the button still works when I press it, but it doesn't fire the carto any more.
Maybe I'll try to open it up.
Probably a loose wire in there.

Don't loosen it up before you try prying the center post up a little. It's made to float. Just a tiny fraction should do it. There will always be threads that are off a fraction of a millimeter and the floating center post is made to accommodate this. It's one of the most common maintenance issues.

Actually, I think the hope is that the carto and e-cig center pin will meet and slightly compress the insulators to make a good contact. Floating contact ain't that good for contact. If you open it up the front end will now be the

weak end. You know, the one that blows out first. Maybe.

Right. In a perfect world that bit of rubber around the post is supposed to have the right resistance so that it bounces back. But it's not a perfect world an these parts come from China.

And yeah, second that. Given recent events, I wouldn't go opening it up. Not unless you know how to reseal the battery in perfect condition.

Nope, centre pin adjustment does nothing.
I'm pretty sure something got loose due to the shock of falling.
Knowing the build quality of these things, I think the battery as is is done for.
I'm thinking about salvaging the parts for a mod in the future.
Perhaps I can resolder and put everything in a new casing.
Will depend on how easy these things come apart...

If you do, make sure to put a vent hole in the tip end.
