Not picking on Bamani by quoting her; just see that statement as a nice summary of many of the statements here that seem to be missing a larger point.
I love to vape. While at home, I often chain-vape. I never vape in a grocery store or a restaurant, because I just don't feel either a great need or the desire for an argument. (NO, vaping is NOT "more addicting" than smoking.)
Nevertheless, I
deeply resent vaping bans, which are being enacted for no
RATIONAL reason. Yes, it should be up to each establishment's owner to set such a policy or not; however, as an ex-smoker
I am weary deep into my bones of being treated like a 3rd-class citizen.
I think this may be a significant factor in the outrage many of us vapors feel at these knee-jerk bans: There is NO RATIONAL basis for them, and frankly we have already "been there, done that" and have NO desire to be treated that way again.
I will say that, were it my custom to frequent a coffee shop to relax and read or just people-watch while enjoying my java, I would flee from any and all coffee shops that decided to ban vaping (and let them know WHY). I WILL vape with my coffee, doggone it, and will exercise my right to not be irrationally bullied by not spending any money at a cafe which seeks to deprive me of that harmless pleasure.
