Hi all, I received my E-Cig from dealextreme.com yesterday , and everything seems to be working fine except the taste.

My e-cig is producing vapour as it should but the vapour has no taste at all. I was using the original refill it came with, then i thought I'd tried the mint flavoured I ordered, same....no taste at all.

Is there a problem with my ecig? I believe its the generic brand type.

I DON'T pretend to know very much about PV's but I'm thinking in this case, you're getting what you paid for. I don't know about Singapore, but in the US you can get something relatively similar at 7-11 and those have turned people off of vaping before they even start. I'm guessing it might not be that powerful and/or the liquid in the prefilled cartridges is just not the best quality. You might want to try buying from one of the reputable websites most vapers on here buy from like vapor kings, electronicstix, liberty flights, my freedom smokes, etc. If you look at the suppliers list you'll find most of them. Get yourself a kit (808 or 510 or just jump into an Ego) and you'll note the difference. (it's a bit pricier... well, much pricier than what you paid for the kit you have, but it's well worth it.)

This is just a suggestion based on what I can gather from the kit you bought and some advice based on my beginning vaping experience.

Good luck, and WELCOME! (stick close to the forum, there's a TON of information here. Read through it before you buy.)

Also , keep in mind that , when you first start vaping , your taste buds aren't really working correctly yet . It mayt take several months before your sense of taste returns . But like what was said above . You might want to look into getting a better device , and some better juice . Maybe even some double flavor . Welcome to the ECF .

This is definitely true! What I started out with is much to strong for me now. You mentioned mint though, and mint flavors are generally pretty strong, so I suspect the juice is just not very good. Prefilled generally aren't.

If you are able to produce vapor then it sounds like your technique is good, so I don't think that is the problem. Do you know what mg of nic are in the cartridges? It appears that you may have got ones that don't contain any nicotine. The type of juice (pg or vg or a blend of both) and the nic content and the percentage of flavor in the juice all contribute to a good vaping experience. Don't throw away your ecig, just look into getting some good juice to refill the cartridges with. The carts seem to be refillable. Most of us agree that a blend of atleast 80% pg and 20% vg produces the best vapor, there are also many varieties of mint or menthol juice available in many levels of nicotine. Keep reading, learning and vaping : )

Hello jthia and welcome to the forum!

I agree with the previous posters; you really should get yourself a better ecig, these are just underperformers.
While you wait for your order to arrive, you could also try the following:

Note: I have a similar model, which I purchased before my joye510 (which I love and use daily).
Mine produced very little vapor, but the flavor was OK. It was a high nicotine "tobacco" flavor (tobacco in quotes because NO e-liquid tastes like burning tobacco).

The cartridge that comes pre-installed on the atomizer has no liquid in it. It is meant to protect the atomizer until it is ready for use. If you try to use it this way you will only inhale the primer fluid that is on the atomizer which protects it from corrosion. It will produce some vapor, but it will either taste horrible, or not have any taste at all.

I fixed my cartridges by enlarging the tiny hole at the mouthpiece to about 2mm with a small screwdriver. This permitted an easier draw and increased the vapor production quite a bit.

I also pushed the inner cartridge that carries the liquid out using a paperclip. This cartridge has a foil cover which is supposed to be pierced by the atomizer bridge when you push the cartridge on. It usually does not pierce very well this way, so I push it onto the atomizer, then put the mouthpiece on over it. This ensures the bridge will make full contact with the fluid helping it wick better to the coil.

If it still produces little or no flavor, I suggest you purchase some e-liquid of your chosen flavor (there are "no nicotine" flavors available, if you prefer) and dip the atomizer bridge into a small cap full of e-liquid (called "dipping", and this atomizer with the exposed bridge is perfect for that), reinstall the mouthpiece and see if that doesn't "jump start" it.

Good luck and let me know if it works for you! Take care!
