Here is an example of the recipe. Following the recipe, I still can't get flavor which is why I ASSUMED that more flavoring = more taste, but I was obviously wrong. I couldn't get the graph/calculator to work with nicotine but I use a 60 100% vg concentrated nicotine. I ususually dilute to 3-5 %

Unless you are using some cartomizer or pod system with very little vapor produced. Try something like this for that recipe, a small batch of 30ml for the flavors cutting them to the below %.
CAP Blueberry 4% - 1.2 ML
TFA – Strawberry Ripe – 4% - 1.2 ML
TFA Whipped Cream – 2 % - .6 ML
EM - .5% - .15 ML
This is around 10% flavor total. You can test it the day after blending but it will need steeping because of the Whipped Cream. Test it again in a week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks.

Flavors that contain ethyl maltol that are useful (usually) are merengue, marshmallow and cotton candy. You can use them a LOW percentages to round out a mix (I am particularly fond or merengue for this) but too high, you are going to cause your mix to degrade, not improve.

I love a good toasted marshmallow (think it's Purilum IIRC) but too much, you are just going to get "murky sweet". I usually use those flavors at no more than 1%. They can add depth and some body, but it's good to know they already contain sweetener. Honestly too high a percentage will just be "bleugh." I almost never use cotton candy to me that's almost the same as EM on its own, although I guess it adds that tinge of "sweet-sticky" in a way, but honestly, use it judiciously.

Welcome and glad you joined.
What am I doing wrong or how can I manage to bring out more flavor in my recipes?
I shake (two or 3 shakes) my recipes 3-4 times the first week, then once a week for the remaining 3 weeks for a total minimum steep/aging of 4 weeks.
Each blender (TFA/CA/FA etc.) shines in each particular flavor. My job is to find the most highly rated flavor by a blender in my price range. When found and purchased,I mix a single/standalone flavor at a percentage reported to be the most popular. After 4 weeks, I generally know if this flavor has the taste, strength/percentage, to work with as a single and suspected mix performance. This tasting normally confirms that the flavor is a primary (i want it to stand out in the mix) or a supporting secondary/other. I will only know how this flavor will work overall, if I mix it (substituting it) in a known proven very similar recipe. I might do this 4-5 times over many months of experimentation. Of 60 or so pg my flavors, maybe only 10% may contain the taste and strength I require. Just because a flavor does not stand out, it may be used in a supporting role.
Nothing is written in stone, I like butterscotch, this flavor totally eludes my taste buds. I have 3 or 4 variations reported to be pretty good, hogwash to my buds, can't taste the butterscotch I'm look for.

I'd have to dig. I got it from Nic River but that doesn't actually tell you much. When I mix this time, I am going to write down ALL my flavors and their manufacturers. It will help me plan recipes more easily anyway. I'll get back to you @Letitia, once I do some organizing.

ELR recipes flavor stash is a great tool for keeping track of your flavors.

With that much flavoring you might be getting vapors tounge and overwhelmed taste buds.
And with 4% EM it’s probably muting things too.
Bad combination.

Everybodys taste is different, but I hardy ever mix anything over 15% flavoring total.
And a lot of mixes are under 10%, especially if using FA or INW flavorings.

I’d look to get some CAP super sweet and use it at .5 or .75, drop the EM altogether IMO.
