Hi everyone. I recently bought an eGo-C starter kit for my wife from upinvapor.com. $40 bucks, cheapest price I found so I didn't want to pass it up. Anyhow, we received it a couple days ago and my wife loves it. She gets plenty of vapor and the best part is she hasn't smoked a real cig since she got this. After doing some research I realized that her eGo-C did not have the Joytech logo.

Here's my question. Is she missing out on anything by not having the official Joytech? The battery life is great. Lasted her a full day on one charge. One of the tank cartridges did leak a little but she changed the tank and that fixed it. From what I've read online that happens from time to time with the ego-c. I guess what I'm look for is for someone to tell me I got a good deal.

Chances are it came from the same factory the branded ego's come from. If it is working and keeping her off the smokes you got an excellent deal. The tanks leaking now and then are a common thing so I wouldn't worry about that. Don't toss out the old tank for the ego-c, you can rinse and reuse and buy replacement endcaps, unless the tank itself is somehow cracked it is still good.

Welcome , and not all "real Ego's " are branded with the joytech logo , but are really the same thing . If it had been branded Joytech , the price would have been substantially higher . So like said before , if it ain't broke don't fix it . And your wife is not missing out on anything , unless she likes spending too much for something . Good Luck

Thats good news! Thank you so much for your knowledgeable response. I'm going to get one for my son from that same website. Great deal!

I could be wrong, but I have a strong suspicion that not all "eGo-C" products - batteries, or atomizers - are created equal. I have reason to suspect that it does not all "come from the same factory", and I have reason to suspect that it is not all made to the same (high IMO) level of quality that is found in genuine Joyetech products.

I've seen plenty of "eGo-C" atomizers that are a lot cheaper than genuine Joyetech, and I do believe that I've read posts from people saying that "off-brand" "eGo-C" atomizers (/cones/bases) did not perform as well as the real thing. I would advise everyone to get genuine Joyetech products. Given what we were all spending on cigarettes - ususally thousands of dollars a year - I simply cannot recommend saving a few dollars by getting something with a question mark next to it.

I understand what you are saying. If we were talking about $5-$10 difference then maybe i'd pay it. But I saved $40 on this, $80 now that I'm getting my son one too. If I can get that kind of savings and have the product do what it is supposed to do (help family stop smoking). Then I'm all for it.

Absolutely correct on that . Some people need to have the "real deal" but pay a premium price for that name brand . I say if it works for you , and you save that kind of money , then go for it . You may want to upgrade in the future , but there are lots of options out there . The biggest improvements are battery life , and cost to replace said batteries . Big battery PV's batteries are a lot cheaper to buy , then those for the Ego's and clones .

I'm not sure there's one categorically "correct" answer on this, and I'm not sure that my view on this is categorically "wrong". I'll just say again that when I think back on how many thousands of dollars a year I was spending on cigarettes, saving $40 on a set of starter gear of somewhat unknown origin doesn't get me all that excited.

I don't always go for the "name brand", especially when it makes no sense to me to do so, but one crappy eGo clone was enough for me. Not saying they're all crappy, because they're not. kGo, Riva, plenty of others are fine. I was really mainly referring to the atomizers themselves; I just can't recommend saving a few dollars by not getting the genuine Joyetech/Ovale C- atomizer base, cone, and heads. YMMV of course.
