I have one genesis, and now that I know exactly how to build it for my taste, it's great. |I'm glad I have it and that I had the patience to learn how to use it properly.

I also have 3 Kayfuns of various types, and a Taifun GS for the VTR. They're wonderful. No doubt about that at all. I'd get more in a heartbeat, while the genesis may remain the only one of its kind on my desk. :)

I make a point of using my genny at home, though, and with its matching mod, it is very cool. The Kayfuns are a lot more practical, hassle-free, portable and work superbly.

What are not getting used at all are the myriad Pts and iclears that I now have put away in a box of stuff to pass on to other people.

I've had my Kayfun clones for a while now, and still prefer the flavor my RSST delivers when vaping El Kamino by GLV. Dunno why, maybe the mesh changes the flavor, or maybe it some other factor. Regardless, that's the way it is for me. Too bad too, 'cause I don't like the RSST when out an about; the open fill plug leaks every time I lay it down, or it suffers from vapor lock when I leave it plugged.

Everything else I've tried (head to head) seems to taste better out of the Kayfun clone.

While I love all my toys, in the end, it's really about enjoying a good vape. I've had good success with a few genesis atomizers, but the added effort in building and maintaining them isn't worth it to me when compared to the kayfun style.

Building a kayfun/taifun with a microcoil and cotton is practically dummy proof, and the results are always satisfying.

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Dummy! :D

And I can build and wick with the best of 'em (see my 7 REO's - all with RM2's). I could NOT get away from dry hits on my two KFL+ clones. I got so disgusted with them, after weeks of fiddling with them (coil placement, wick placement, wick quantity, etc), that I pif'd them to another ECF member who had asked in a thread I was reading, where was the most affordable place to buy one to play with.

I really wanted to love them.

Oh admit it, it's just because you're a Squonkaholic! lol...

I know what you mean though, I get good performance in general but it isn't always what I would call amazing.

My very first build, which I was never able to duplicate was amazing. Loved my KFL+ right out of the gate - finally something I loved to top my Provari.....was never able to get that same amazing vape on subsequent builds. :(

Squonkers never have to learn how to wick correctly, they just have to squonk some juice onto the coil and vape, dry hits are usually due to improper wicking (too much cotton, overstuffing the channels, etc.), built correctly the kayfun/russian/taifun/aqua cannot be beat

I love my Genesis RBAs...but i just bought myself a second KF (a real one this time).

When i end up with a good build on one particular genny of mine, nothing can beat it both for vapor amount and flavor. But I've had the thing for more than a month, and i am still not able to do consistently good builds; typically i end up having to tweak the coils two or three times a day, which is a real nuisance.

So I figure i'll keep working at improving my genny build skills, but in the meanwhile use a KF as my ADV device. I definitely do not think that gennies are a thing of the past.

I redid one of my 8 today. Microcoil and 2mm ecowool. Took 10 min and vapes like a charm. Sucks having to run without the air screw and having to tilt, but to me the vape is far superior to Kaynotfun. I have 3. Kf 3.1, KFL and Russian 91. They vape great, good TH, excellent vapor but they just seem to taste odd. I tried boiled cotton, silica, ecowool. I just don't like them.

What I was impressed with was a protank mini I setup with an atom mod for a buddy getting into vaping. I liked the protank so much, I ordered 5 of the standard size ones. I don't know if the reliability will be as good as my AGA's with the Protanks, but IMO, Kayfun tops suck.

3 out of the 8 have micro coil with 2mm ecowool. One has a micro coil with cotton. The others have SS mesh with 28g kanthal between 1.2 and 1.5 ohms. I never touch the coil or the wick. I build them and forget it and just vape them. I discovered the cigarette paper method and I can wind a coil on a genny in about 5 min or less. If they gunk up, I drain the tank, run them under hot water, do a dry burn and all set. Sometimes I even pull out the wick, dry burn, clean and torch the wick, reinsert, adjust a tad and it's good for another 2 months. I have spent about 30+ hours at least learning how to build these. Now I figure I can build anything.

Kayfuns in the back, where they should be.

Way too much fiddling for me. I still use mine but only when im at home now.

That's it in a nutshell. My authentic KFL+ rides on top my Provari for all day and work duties. (I simply don't have time to futz with gennys) BUT... at home??? Siam Cobra 400 mesh w/xc116 sleeve and 30 gauge dual coil at .7 ohm... mmmmmm VA Kraken: ss rope w/xc132 sleeve 32 guage 1ohm... RSST fc2000 with .1 ribbon..blah blah...aha t2 blah blah... GENNYS, MAN!!! NOTHING BEATS THEM! !!
