Hey all, new to mixing my own smokejuice, just had a couple of questions i know you all can help me out with...

I don't have PG yet... ordered some but i'm wanting to try something in the mean time. I DO have...

food grade VG
40 Proof Alcohol
Mint Flavor
Almond Flavor
Orange Flavor
Vanilla Flavor

and i can obviously distill some water...duh

so i was wondering what kind of mixes i could do without PG. i remember seeing some recipes on here that didn't include pg the other day, but of course i can't find them anymore. Some help please?

Call--anything you can do with PG--you can also do with VG--Vg has to be thinned out with the water or the alcohol and use a little more flavor, but it is the same deal.

I wanted to post in this thread since it is along the same lines. I have made some 0 nic VG newbie style. Only VG and flavoring.... Ho do you get a bit of throat hit with 0 nic? Is that where the alcohol comees in? I don't drink so would have to go to the ABC. Or would rubbing alcohol do

I use pinnacle vodka (40% alcohol) ususally 20% to straight VG to thin it and it does add to the throat hit. Most of my 0 nic juices are 65% VG 15% vodka and 20% flavoring. Depending on the flavoring you may have to increase or decrease for flavor. Everyones taste buds are different.

Does anyone think that Everclear has doubled sales after this site started talking about PGA?

I know that usplastics may have, they are always out of the common sizes as of the last few weeks.

(Are there other manufacturers of PGA?)

I know Dan already gave you good advice on this, but as a health care professional I feel compelled to point out for all and sundry, do not ever use rubbing alcohol in your juice. If you're lucky all it will do is blind you.

Your almond, mint and orange are probably oils, and not water soluble. In my experience, oils can be used, but it is harder on the atty, and the flavor is harder to get rid of. Also, at least for the mint, I use FAR less to make a juice than a water-sol flavor. Make a 20% mint juice and it will blow your head off and not in a pleasant way...but to each his own. Also, the orange has coloring dyes, another thing I tend to avoid until I get more info on if it is safe to vape in the long run.

Thanks to Sun and Dan for clarifying the use of water in VG. I am making VG-only juices now, no PG, and will try a little water in the mix. Vodka certainly adds to the throat hit, and a little too much is a cough fest.

I have another big batch of Lorann's coming soon. Can't wait to make more juices with the new info I've learned here. I do chemistry for a living, and this is by far the most fun I've had with wet chemistry in years.

Remember: a ban will NOT require cessation of vaping, it will simply require more skills.

I know Dan already gave you good advice on this, but as a health care professional I feel compelled to point out for all and sundry, do not ever use rubbing alcohol in your juice. If you're lucky all it will do is blind you.

Here, here, degnr8!! Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol, isopropanol, 1-methylethanol, IPA) is BAD to vape or inject in any way. Not only is it relatively toxic, but it is denatured with additives to make sure it messes you up if you drink it.

IPA is only a last resort in cleaning an atty, and honestly I have only used it for this once. Vodka is my goto for cleaning. I have not added vodka to thin my juices, but plan to experiment with it in the near future.

In a similar vein, never sweeten a juice with aspartame (Nutrasweet). With heat higher than about 80 F it will break down creating methanol plus amino acids. Vaping methanol is seriously bad for you, also leading to eventual blindness.

And yes, this decomposition happens in the body when eating aspartame...and the FDA is going to ban PVs? Don't...get...me...started. Evil murderous liars, all of them. They should be forced to smoke analogs and eat aspartame until their lungs and heads dissolve.

Lately I've moved to more VG and less PG. It doesn't take much 95% alcohol to thin it sufficiently, maybe 10 or 15%.

I find that I actually prefer a slightly thicker liquid, the tendency for the liquid to run and get into the cart vents is greatly reduced in my experience.
