Hi,
I've been vaping a good few months now and over the last couple/few weeks I seem to have lost most of my sense of smell. For example today the OH said she could smell the kitchen bin from about 15 feet away from it. I couldn't, even when sticking my head almost inside it. I also have days when my taste buds go wild and I sometimes vape mints/menthol to help.

Anyone else have this problem, or am I the lonely guy in the corner?

Are you on any kind of allergy meds or any other meds that could perhaps be influencing this? I was on prescription meds due to me being allergic to my dog, and one of the side effects was that I would lose my sense of smell.

Sorry I should've said I'm generally in good health and not on any meds, no diet changes or anything etc. Thanks for the suggestion tho :)

is it just the bin you can't smell or has everything gone? What's the last thing you remember smelling?

Oh and could you have hayfever?

I've just been testing myself sniffing coffee, bleach and methylated spirit (the strange things you can lay your hands on easily huh lol). I could smell an essence of each but not very strong, but strong enough that I could tell which was which. Almost everything I smell at the moment has a sort of sweetness to it, but indistinct-able. I also had flu about 2 months ago, and I couldn't smell anything at all from the methylated spirit, like it could've been water (I had occasion to use meths while recovering). Thinking about it - my lack of smell stems back to that time. I don't have any other hay fever type symptoms either and haven't ever been prone to it.

Thanks for your reply, at least you've got me thinking that it's maybe something to do with my flu recovery.

I've been vaping about 5 months and had my share of vaper's tongue. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy lol. Have found vaper's tongue comes on mostly when I'm hungry or thirsty and laying off the vape for a few hours really helps, especially if I eat or drink something inbetween. Been googling my symptoms and read a few reports about people having a similar thing, so gonna visit the doc and see if it's some infection or something. Will post back with an update.

Thanks for taking the time to reply folks, it's appreciated.
