I have a weird question for you ladies, didn't want to post it in the health section cuz well... I'm a lil shy and we're all women. I have an IUD, and usually I don't have a period at all. I've had this one for a year, but I've had IUDs for 6 years total. The first 2-3 years I had none, the last 2 years I had a very light one, and starting this new one I had none, but after quitting smoking and starting vaping, the first 2 months nothing, but this month I had my period and it was BAD. Heavy, crampy, icky. Even prior to an IUD I never had a heavy period, even before smoking, not like this, laying in bed half the day while the kids were at school because it hurt to move. Period is done and I'm fine now. Did anyone else have a resurgence of menstrual symptoms after quitting smoking?

well this is my first period since i swapped and i do have to say it is a little bit more painful, heavy and a little worse in cramps. mind you its not like the first period after having bub. lol this is nothing compared to that.
i always find that a hot water bottle always helps and some decent pain killers, something to take the edge off it for the day

Hi ladies! I have disappeared yet again... My mom went home finally yesterday after being here short a few days of a month. I love my mom but that was too much mom time. She had to stay over at Gary's for awhile due to rules here on my lease and my roommate not being so keen on my mom staying more than a week.
Gary came home on the 30th and has now had to leave today, he father passed while on his way driving there. We were told his condition changed yesterday and Gary decided to spend the night with me, called the nurse this am and was told an entirely different story that dad seemed fine. So Gary decided to go into work and got a call a few hours after that his dad's breathing was able to be heard down the hall. He called me then and asked me what to do. I with all my medical training couldn't tell him yes or no don't go. I had told him last night I thought he had 24 hrs to 48 to get down there and it seems I was right he made it 24hrs. Anyways my heart just hurts right now for Gary. When he called to ask me what he should do, he told me his head was thinking oh well this could be just like yesterday, and my heart says to get in the car and go. I never discount those funny feelings and told him to go with his heart. His dad passed with my love on the road for just two hours. The good thing in all this is I have gotten to do what the hospice people would have done if he was down there I gave him all the answers to his questions I could, told him what to expect, and what may happen. I don't know what will be coming down the road but, at least I can help ease things a bit.
I miss you ladies! Between taking care of family and school, life has been a mess. Just thought I'd take a moment and say hey and let ya know where I have been, and thank you in advance for letting me dump.
