He already got his permit. I took his phone and computer from him,he said give it back and pay the bills and dont bother me. I just couldnt do it. I cant allow that kind of thinking. Pay for my stuff and leave me alone doesnt work for me. Im so mad that other parents are letting him stay and come and go as he pleases and not making him call home or them call me just so I know he is okay. Its not right.

Keyz if he has a safe harbor(s) then it's going to be rough to get him to stop. Have you actually talked to the other parents? They may not know what is going on. My son had a friend like that. This kid would go from one place to another and we just thought that he was spending the night. It wasn't until after we let him stay a week because his parents were supposedly away. Toward the end of that week, I ran into his mom. She was pulling her hair with worry and I felt awful.

You can't let him set the rules of the house. Like CES said you and hubby are going to have to get on the same page, set the perimeters and stick to it. And tell him if he wants his stuff back then you'll help him get a job so he can pay for it. If nothing else a job will give him less time to stew over things.

(((hugs))) and good luck!

Good morning ladies! Sorry I haven't checked in, in a while. Wedding is today and since I bought my Sari I have been on a wild search for the perfect petticoat, Choli, Jewlery and shoes. Finally finished finding it all yesterday (whew!) We are supposed to be Leaving for where we will be staying so we can get ready up there in less than an hour, but of course DH just got in the shower, the kids are dragging their feet, and most of their stuff is as of yet not packed. Sometimes the procrastination of my family drives me near batty! LOL :p

Keyzy, (((HUGS)))! Been there, done that. Our son is 32 now, but I remember that period like it was yesterday! Tough love. I think they call it that because it's tough for the parents! I had grounded our son one time. He had his driver's license but not his own car yet. He grabbed the keys and was about to storm out of the house. I told him if he left, I was going to call the police and report the car stolen. He actually called the police to see what would happen, and they told him if his name wasn't on the registration (which it wasn't), they'd throw him in juvenile detention. He hated me (at the time) but he stayed home!

I really don't have any advice, just wanted to let you know you're not alone, others have been through it and lived to tell about it! You have my sympathy!

But I just remembered that when we bought this house, there were alarm triggers on all the doors. We asked our realtor to find out why - did the neighborhood have a lot of breakins? No, the seller told her, they put the alarm system in to keep their teenaged daughter from sneaking out!

Seri, I hope the wedding is loads of fun!

(((((Keyz))))) So sorry you are going through this. Kids at that age are difficult to deal with even if they aren't being rebellious. I agree with JJ, you should talk to his friends parents and let them know what is going on. Maybe they will agree to calling you when he is there.

The back talking is another story, if I would have done that my mama would have smacked me! I never did that to my kids but they learned real quick not to talk back. We even put a password protect on their computers to take away the privilege of internet. Kids didn't have laptops and could have gotten on the one we used.

An alarm system is a good idea!!
