I've seen a lot of folks mention applying Noalox to their mods and I'm wondering what function it serves.

My first guess was that it is used as a lubricant for threading, but I've also seen mention of it being used for other functions. What type of mod can benefit from the application of Noalox?

Also, does it need to be ordered from an online vendor, or are there any stores that carry it? Are there any tips for applying it?

I'd appreciate any advice or feedback you have to offer. Thanks! :2cool:

It is used on the threaded areas to prevent galling of the metals. It allows them to screw together much more smoothly. The important part of noalox is that it is very conductive. So if the PV you are using uses the body of the mod as the electrical ground, it will help/not impede the electrical pathway. Usually it is used on all mechanical type mods to help the switch function, or on the main tube threads for conductivity.

You can find it at homedepot and lowes i nthe electrical section.
