Wanted to share with you all what I've been working on. I had a Noisy Cricket sitting here collecting dust and after some thinking and planning, I decided to convert it to a single 18650 mech bottom feeder. So far the only parts I had to acquire were a bottom fed 510 and some brass stripping.

I'm currently still in mid process, but I'll share what I have done so far. All I need to do yet is get the positive connection sorted out and finished up and get some bottles and I'll be on my way.

When it's finished it will function just as the Cricket did before, minus the second battery. I'll be installing a brass strip from the lower side positive to the positive on the 510, keeping the body the ground.

Looking good! I haven't had a chance to try a cricket but I hear it hits like a train! I'm curious as to which bottles will fit in there. Have you tested any bottles on it yet?

I haven't had a chance to try any bottles yet. That's where I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I think the super soft ones may fit. Check out reosmods. They have smaller but stiffer bottles too.

I was looking on their site. I'm in the dark on diameters though. It will have to be no bigger than 18mm. I'm not sure if there is a standard for size.

And it has to be easily removed and attached to the 510

Can we see some pics of the finished product? I have 2 NC's that I would love to do something with just not sure how to go about it

When I get it finished I will post some. I am waiting on a drill press so I jave some more flexibility with options.

So I put this project on the shelf for a couple of weeks, but decided today to sit down and get it together. It's working great minus a bottle. I don't have any yet, but figured I could use it as a mech until I do. I may change a thing or two with the brass strip I used for the contact, but other than that I'm happy with it.
