Non high drain 18350 battery really a bad idea?

So I got my Foggatti arrived then found out I couldn't obtain any legit high drain 18350 battery... guess I should have thought it through XD

The only branded 18350 I could find locally was some xtar, and it's listed as Max discharge 4.25A

I have never put anything under 10A in any e cigarette device though I don't normally go under 1ohm,

Should I consider that xtar battery disqualified and keep looking for suitable one?

1.0 ohms will draw 4.2A. If your meter is off a bit and it's really 0.9 ohms it will draw 4.67A, so you're over the battery's limit.

Personally, I would not go that close to the continuous limit. 4.25A is the continuous and not the pulse limit, right?

The other thing that's important is the battery chemistry. Is it IMR or ICR? If you're not sure, what is the mAh rating? ICR should not be used in vaping because they are the ones that burn when they vent which is even more important in your situation.

Thanks for the heads up. Yes on Xtar homepage, it is listed as "continuous" 4.25A, yet it is the IMR type.

I guess I'll put my new mod away for now and keep looking for suitable battery, man it's hard! I once found some 18340 which I wasn't sure would the size fit, and it was non branded...

Find a place that sells aw batteries I can't remember the amp rating but they are the most stable batteries you can get in that size.

Understand that everyone has preferences, and what they would consider an acceptable level of performance. For me, there is no 18350 (or 14500) battery that meets my expectations. An AW IMR 18490 is only about 9/16 of an inch longer than a 18350, and has almost three times the amp limit.

Yes AW and eFest, all Hong Kong brand, rebrand batteries, and YES, EXPORT only. NOT obtainable here in HK... can you believe it...

I might eventually have to connect my mods to the wall AC socket, lol

Ohh wow... really, I guess I've been too frustrated and missed the fact there's 18490. Thanks for reminding me ^^
