I want an 18350 for a couple mods to make them shorter but everything I'm running requires high drain batteries (10A preferably) so the handful of 18350's I have won't cut it. Do such batteries exist? I realize the mah rating will be horrible but I want a smaller mod... so... I'm going to put them in my Nemesis and my NZonic if I can get them. Anybody know where I can buy 10A limit 18350s?

Best you can get, I believe. Not for big-amps/sub-ohm, but I think they're 10A.

NOPE - SORRY, i checked, they're 6 A
Nope, they're 6A. The burst would be enough to work but I'm still looking. These were the batteries I was planning to buy if my scavenger hunt fails.

Batteries smaller than an 18650 are not "safe" for sub ohm vaping.
Completely not true.
Even with 18350's sub-ohm vaping is possible and completely safe. The battery is mentioned above is rated for a little over 6 Amps. With a fully recharged one putting out 4.2 Volts, if the device and battery had absolutely no resistance (which is impossible) and the coil was 0.7 Ohms you would only be drawing 6 Amps and depending on your inhale time only for a few seconds. The battery is capable of CONTINUOUSLY discharging 6 Amps and you are only going to be discharging it for a few seconds at a time. This is also with a full charge and no resistance from the battery or mod, so in reality if you had a battery that wasn't completely charged, and calculated the resistance of the mod and battery you would be able to go lower than 0.7 safely. Sub-ohm vaping is safe regardless of battery size, you just need a battery that can handle the load.

+1. I regularly vape my 350's at around .6 to .7, you're only on the button for 2 seconds at a time, and it works just fine.

Very intresting post john wonder what you'll come up with.
I also wanted to use my mods short from time to time, but after
I use 10 amp and above 18650 cells, I just can't step back from this.
It drive the coil much better and keep the fresh like power
for more time.
Plus no need to change more then once or twice a day,
For my 1.5 ohm ribbons.
So I gave up until some new cell will show up
but don't see any coming in near future.
Good luck anyway.

Exactly. Batteries that are designed to continuously discharge at a certain current for the life of the battery can certainly handle discharging at that same current for a few seconds even if the few seconds are back to back (chain vaping).

Thanks. I wasn't planning on using them day to day, more for when I need something smaller and compact. For day to day vaping it's high drain 18650's all the way.

Anyways, away from all this battery safety stuff. The quest continues for a 10A+ 18350, so far 6A seems to be about the limit these little guys can discharge at. Maybe battery technology will improve quick enough that I won't have to wait very long.

I agree that's why I had "safe" in quotes. Even when running less than ideal setups the odds of catastrophic failure are still remote. I just know that I've heard from many sources that its not a great idea to put 18350s or 18500s in taxing situations for long periods of time.
