Normally I would agree with the majority, but the OP stated that he/she has considered smoking. So here's my clarification. Most of us on forum are ex-smokers. But let's not forget the new generations of cigarette users.

Mom n Dad telling me "No! Don't do it" with all the why not's didn't work for me and it didn't for most of you. Did we not go ahead and start regardless? While not as prevalent as it used to be, the baccy companies are still raking in thousands of new smokers every day.

My concern is that if OP is going to start lighting up then vaping is a better alternative.

As I said in my first post in this thread, I would not recommend that a non-smoker take up vaping "just because". That said, if one was going to vape regardless, I would suggest using 0mg juices because with vaping one has that option. With tobacco smoking there is no such option. There is no such thing as nicotine free tobacco.

Ultimately though Raichu will have to decide for himself what he wants to do. That may include vaping, it may not. If it does include vaping then hopefully he will follow the advice of those of us who are addicted to nicotine and not start an addiction that will be hard to quit IF (and I stress if) there are long term health consequences related to vaping.

Never smoked, not even the electronic ones, but I've always been tempted to. The health risks kept me away, but now I'm considering trying out the 0mg e-cigs, just for something to keep me busy. I'm overweight-- not a lot, but enough that it bothers me-- and by far the biggest reason for that is boredom eating/drinking. So I figure this would be something to keep my hands, mouth, and taste buds occupied, without all the calories and fat and high-fructose corn syrup. So even though I don't have a nicotine addiction, I do have a mountain dew addiction that I'd like to get over. The idea is intriguing, and I also can't pretend I'm not extremely curious.
This is just my personal experience and I am in no way advocating this concept.
I started vaping a little over a month ago after smoking for 48 years. I stopped smoking immediately. I was worried about wanting to snack all the time but have found that I don't even snack at all now. I used to want an afternoon snack and then a bedtime snack. I'm on the border of being overweight due to an injury that keeps me way less active than I was.

After the first week I noticed the lack of snacking at all and when I mentioned it to the wife, she said she had noticed it before I did but didn't want to jinx it by saying anything.

I also was going through at least one full 2 liter bottle of diet Mt Dew daily plus a diet drink or three if we went out to eat.
I have since started drinking just plain old water, YUCK. I''ve never, never, ever drank just plain old water. I won't drink a liter of soft drink in a week now.

I have a couple of snack flavors that I vape plus all my tobacco flavors are slightly sweet so I guess this is supressing my urge to snack.

Long post to get here. If you do not smoke, then you should in no way vape with any amount of nicotine, but that's like telling someone that has never drank alcohol not to start. Maybe they will, maybe they won't.

Vaping as a diet aid may or may not be a good idea and it may or may not work. I'm just amazed at what vaping has done for some of my nasty habits/adictions.
