None that I know of. All the lab created liquid nic currently available is sourced from tobacco. That's how the FDA can legally justify slapping the "tobacco product" label on our industry/community and why we will soon be regulated/taxed into obscurity. Many other plants (like tomato), contain appreciable amounts of nic but tobacco is the reigning king. I'd be willing to pay extra for liquid nic that's sourced exclusively from tomato plants if doing so would make it legally difficult for the FDA to label our stuff as being a "tobacco product".

Currently pretty much all nicotine is derived from tobacco.

The concept of synthesized nicotine is not new, but is not really feasible for our purposes last I saw.
The concept of extracting nicotine from other sources, which are many, is also not fiscally feasible yet.

But the FDA has already stated in public that nicotine derived from other sources would not be subject to FSPTCA regulations.
And I did hear a rumor that someone, somewhere, was working on a feasible alternative.

i'll have to back check but, i think it was Mr.Zeller the the FDA's drug zcar
that said non-tobacco sourced nicotine would not be under the authority
of the FDA regulation. along with zero nic juice and hardware such as batteries.
he also said they could not ban internet sales.
when they finally release the regulations only what the regulations allow
and what products the FDA approves will be legal. every thing else will
be verboten.
Mr. Zeller can say anything he wants,he's not writing the regulations.
if the regulations say nicotine from any source, that's what it will be.
they are not going to leave that gate unguarded.

Here is a synthetic source.

200mg/ml cost is way over the top in small quantities. For 5gm it comes out to around $86 just for the nic in 30ml of 6mg/ml liquid.
At the 1kg it comes in around $6.50 for the nic in 30ml of 6mg/ml liquid. Quite pricey but lower than some proposed taxes.

They also sell pure synthetic nicotine. If you have the qualifications to handle the stuff (certified lab or university), purchased in their largest 10kg package, the 180mg you'd need for 30ml of 6mg/ml comes out to about $.47. So, it is viable for a very large juice producer.

The FDA won't be able to regulate it as a TOBACCO PRODUCT. What I don't know is if they will then be able to regulate it (synthetic variety) as a drug....
Which could be worse....

Right now the courts put it in the realm of tobacco product. Less stringent regulation on that due to tobacco history, compared to current pharma regulation.

IDK.

I seem to remember a post awhile back where we discussed how hard it would be to get it approved for inhalation.

There was discussion regarding how synthetic is "slightly" different in molecular structure from natural nicotine.
Something about left-handed vs right-handed molecules if I remember correctly.
