My girlfriend loves the fact I no longer smell of smoke and has really embraced my change to the vape world. However, she has never smoked or tried any tobacco of any kind. She likes the way these smell and the flavors intrigue her so she asks to take puffs of my vape. She doesnt inhale but I know nic is absorbed through the mouth and nose tissue. What are the chances of her getting hooked on this stuff having never smoked? I just got a new vamo and I was thinking id get her some 0 nic juice of her fav flavors and hook her up with my old ego and t2 so she can play too and not risk getting hooked on the devils juice. Anyone else experience anything like this?

0-nicotine. Just tell her if she wants a better throat hit to take a deep breath of air instead...:) Nicotine by itself is more like a caffeine in addiction terms, and nicotine isn't in 0-nicotine juice. The stimulant response combined with the hand to mouth sensation is a pretty habitual habit. I would go to wager that the hand to mouth part is the more addictive side of nicotine and vaping..

My wife does the same thing. She likes to try any new juice that I buy. She's been around me smoking off and on for 30+ years. She has never smoked and only takes a puff of two of my 12 nic. She says that's awesome or that sucks and she's done with it. It's something new to almost everyone, probably just curious. If she showed more and more interest I would definitely be concerned. The novelty will probably wear off soon. If not get her the 0 nic like others have suggested.

my husband is and has always been a non smoker but upon occasion he will like the smell of a flavor and give a puff or two to taste. If he were to want to vape I would get him one with 0 MG juices of his own in a heartbeat...I would never want to she him hooked on nic....I wish I had never started smoking

Different people have different reasons for the things they do. I quit smoking 8 years ago because I couldn't breathe. I missed my menthol and I gained a lot of weight. I started vaping menthol about 3 months ago, 0nic and so I'm feeling like I can have my cake and eat it too! The big big plus is that I haven't used my inhaler since I started vaping, I can feel the menthol in my lungs and, more importantly, I. CAN. BREATHE.

It was "suggested" that she is not "encouraged" to pick up on the hobby. Why shouldn't she pick up on vaping? She is making a very adult and well informed decision to do so. By stating they suggest she not be encouraged, that is simply a "nice" way of saying, tell her NOT to vape. Why not? I thought this was safe....

Somewhere along the line since I starting vaping 1+ years ago, ECF has turned from vaping for anyone into vaping can only be done by smokers looking to quit. My wife's friend was interested in my vaping and wanted to try it. I go of the view I was not put here on earth to tell you what to do and what not to do. We are adults and can decide our own fates. I told her there was nicotine in it, but if she didn't want the nicotine she could get 0 nic. She purchased a few of the batteries and then when hog wild with 0 nic liquids from China. It's funny to walk in her house and look at the number of bottle she has.

Of course I always have to make her some of the liquid she tried of mine because it is her favorite.

If one chooses to smoke, then smoke. If one chooses to vape then vape. Alcohol can be addicting too. Maybe people should stop drinking alcohol or eating salt. Smokers are not evil. Vapers are not evil. People who drink are not evil.

If an adult chooses to vape with nicotine who has never smoked. I see nothing wrong with it.

Just another hobby/past time. People who don't do/don't like what you do look at you and label what you are doing as an 'addiction'. Bingo is an addiction if you play and some one else is of the opinion that you shouldn't be doing it at all. My dentist may feel that lolli-pops are an addiction. If you can't live without something, then it is an addiction. Obvious things like oxygen, food, and cable TV (g) aren't addictions.

as a non smoker, it irritates me when people tell others to not get into vaping. 0 nic is out there. If we are going to proclaim these things as safe, then why even tell people NOT to use them?

While I believe that it is much, much safer than inhaling smoke, we don't really know if it's perfectly safe. We don't know, for instance, if the materials in the wicks and coils release anything into the vapour.

I would never encourage a non-smoker to take up vaping.

The hand-to-mouth routine is very seductive, and so is the relaxation and deep exhales that come with vaping.

I've also noticed now that I have a collection of various tanks with various juices, that my "taste cravings" are constantly being satisfied. And so, I snack less, don't chew gum anymore, I don't crave or seek out sodas/colas, and that I am drinking a lot more water (not just for hydration, which is important to watch, but I like clearing my palate before taking a flavor-filled vape).

Just my personal experience and observation, but for me, vaping has replaced some other "less than healthy" habits and vices that I didn't even consider.

I've noticed the opposite. Do you remember the wars that used to erupt when someone had the audacity to suggest a non-smoker might take up vaping? I'm glad that is behind us now. I really don't mind a cautioning voice of reason once in a while as I see in this thread just to keep us grounded. My :2c:
