Noob 510 question...auto or manual?

I've been doing a lot of research on this awesome site, and I've decided to go with a 510 instead of the Blu like I had originally planned. The only concern I have is I want an automatic, and I can't see anywhere that specifics whether the 510 is automatic or manual, there is a very manual looking button on them, at least the ones I've been looking at on various stores, specifically the PCC special on cignot.

So...is the 510 manual? If not what is that button looking thing on the side? If so...what's a simple cheap noob auto I can get that has easily refillable cartridges?

Thanks for the link, that's an interesting site, even if I'm still starting out with autos I might get them from there.

So it would appear that the 510 comes in auto and manual, but the starter kits are almost always manuals. Does anyone know of a good site that as a starter kit with autos instead? Bonus points if they give you the option to pick your own cartridge flavors (I'd rather not be stuck with high Marlboro carts if I can avoid it).

There are autos available in 510 - TW and heaven gifts to name two places. But read this:

Basically, get the manual but if you have to have an auto, get the 510 and don't drip - auto batts aren't sealed and liquid/electronics.... etc. Some still do anyway but I don't advise it. Use a straw mod instead, but just get your 510 first learn to use it and keep this in mind for later on....

i thought the same thing so i orderd 1 auto and 1 manual from cignot but now i wish i would have gotten two manuals really i don't notice that im hitting the button anymore and fluid doesnt leak into the battery like with the auto also no cut off so i can take as long of a vape 5,6,7,8 sec vape doesnt matter autos cut off after 5 sec

The manual has the button, the auto doesn't. The majority like myself prefers the manual for many different reasons. Many sites sell both. Manuals also won't roll off a table like the auto's.

That hadn't even struck me about the manuals, but another reason to go manual over auto. But auto 510 batteries can be had at several of the common websites.

Yep, that was my biggest problem with the auto's....... use nothing but manuals on my 510

I have only been analog free for 9 days, but I have an auto and a manual. I thought I would prefer the auto as well.... I was WRONG! Manual is so so so much nicer. Although I have to press the button, it actually feels more like smoking with the manual over the auto.

I like manuals as well... when im in a place where its inconvenient to change carts or refill them a manual battery makes it safe for me just to put a cpl drops on the atty and vape my face off...

I got a mixed kit awhile back and at first I loved the manual battery, but now that I've broken in the auto thats my favorite by a mile. Something about using the manual I just feel I don't get any better of a throat hit, maybe just atad bit more vapor, but on the other side of the coin I seem to go through the liquid like a hummer goes through gasoline. I'd suggest starting out with a mixed kit, that way you can decide what you like. Americanbestbuys has the best deal on 510s I've encountered. Only comes in white though.

OK here is how I see it . . .

I had a 103 auto, 40x auto, and 901 auto before my 510 manual.

Honestly the 510 manual was the first one to allow me to go totally analog free. However I desperately miss being able to simply hold it in my mouth and work on something while still vaping hands free. I did just order some auto batteries last night to try out. I'm hoping that they at least work as good as my 901, that would be enough for me when I need both hands.

Now keep in mind that if these suck and I hate them I still have three other manuals to use.

My opinion, go with at least one manual battery.

Alright, you guys have convinced me to get a starter kit with an auto and a manual. Thanks for the link to that primer. This is a huge forum, you think you've gone through the whole thing, and there are still new useful threads!

I seem to be the only person here who never actually smoked analogs. I've always liked the idea of having something to puff on, but never tried normal cigs for the endless list of drawbacks, first of which being $$$. When I get my ecigs hopefully I can write a review from a different perspective.

My next question is, in the second post of this thread there's a link to TITAN high powered batteries. Do those things fit in the standard 510 PCCs I see for sale everywhere?

The Titan megas (now available at heaven gifts too) do not fit in the PCC although there is a workaround for that - rubber band - but you don't get to close the top. Frankly having 2-3 megas (ymmv) really reduces the need for the PCC. If you end up with a mod (bartleby, eg.) with a 900mAh battery - it will last you a day - again no PCC but if none of the above then the PCC is almost a necessity unless you are around power. If you haven't bought yet, here's another possible that has three batts:

Also if you're 'stationary' a lot (or in a car) then the passthrough kit from cignot is a good choice. Passthrough saves on batt recharging.

Well, if you've never smoked analogs, I don't know why you would want to use eCigs; they are really a replacement for analog smokers, and I would not recommend a non smoker starting to use them.
That being said, it is your decision, of course.
I would especially recommend that you not use any nicotine eLiquid, because you risk getting physically addicted that way. There are tons of great flavors out there, you need never get bored, believe me.
I understand your desire for an auto, I am like that too, it is more like an analog experience, but, especially with 510s, the auto batteries get liquid in them and fry dead on a regular basis. I have personal experience with this. The manuals are sealed from the liquid and generally last longer because of this. Plus, as mentioned, they give you more control over when the atomizer powers. You can draw real slow that way, and get a real good hit from a very dense vapor.

I also thought I'd prefer the auto and found exactly the opposite to be true. Manuals the way to go and the button is easily pressed squeezed between your fingers (as you would hold a cigarette) and quickly becomes almost unnoticeable.
