Noob A7 question

As the title indicates, I'm a newbie with the A7. I have really enjoyed it on my REO grand. Until now, that is. I have a Phoenix, and am somewhat familiar with changing the coil on those. That said, I thought the posts on the A7 were connected to the body, and that you unscrewed the screws to slide the old coil off and the new coil on. When I went to do this on my A7, the entire post unscrewed, leaving me no way to attach a new coil. Is this normal, and if so what gives?

That which unscrews, screws back in. The post should stay and the set-screw should come out. If the set-screw won't back-out without the post backing-out, use a paperclip through the hole in the post to hold it stationary while you unscrew the screw. I hope this helps!

Sounds like you have a very tight screw at the top, and a loose post. So when you try to unscrew the top, it unscrews the post along with it. Either do what Dougie said, or try tightening the screw. This should screw the post down with it. Once you cannot screw it down anymore, try unscrewing it. Be careful not to strip the screw on the top.

I got 2 of these today and they don't work on my Reo VV's. I put the post down as far as it goes and it still is not long enough to make a connection. Are you using adapters with them?
